Sierralta and Hoedt both aren’t suitable for Ismael’s system, unless he changes it drastically we’d be conceding goals for fun.
On what basis are you claiming they're both unsuitable for Ismael's system? In what way? Unless something changes drastically then also any defence with Hoedt, Porteous and Andrews in it will be conceding goals for fun. At least Sierralta can actually defend.
Hoedt was no worse than Porteous at the end of last season. I don't know why Hoedt would supposedly be unsuitable for Ismael's system but Porteous would? Sierralta could still be decent if he can manage a run of games (though he can defend but isn't very good at passing).
His ideal setup has an outrageously high line with mobile cb’s who are aggressive with good ability to recover - Hoedt and Sierallta run like they are stuck in mud.
I still rate Sierralta - think his aerial dominance is worth a spot in the centre of the back three, with more mobile players either side.
I wouldn't really call Porteous quick with good recovery ability either - I think even 32 year-old Kabasele still had the edge on him for that.
That may be cyan but it seems he wasn't happy with a presumed wage cut which is ironic considering how little he has played for them and has been underwhelming when he has. But there is that sense of entitlement. If his agent does not find him a suitable club at that wage level he'll have to suck it and see but I don't think we are in the position to pay him what he'd like. We could wait.
Seen it suggested on Twitter that Martins is in training with us. He was just on loan with us before, will this be a loan or a perm?
Not sure where Martins fits in … from the little I saw of him he doesn’t seem quick enough to play wide and doesn’t look good enough to play the Pedro no.10 role at the moment … appreciate he is young and getting used to English football so has time to improve … just not sure he will be an asset for us this season
I would assume this is still him on loan (which expires on June 30th), as it allows Val to assess him, at which point they can decide what to do with him.
Time for Manga and co to get busy . Feel people expecting 7-8 new players might be disappointed though .
Porteous said that there is going to be a rebuild. Our squad is threadbare. 7 or 8 players is the minimum we need.

I’d have thought that Ince is instead of Willock but it depends how we’re planning on lining up. They’d be the same role in a 3-4-1-2 but in a 4-3-3 their roles would not overlap.
A fan of theirs said they only have 17 players right now. If he’s right then the signing won’t free up much!
