With Peterborough absolutely blowing it in the most Watfordy way, we should definitely be in for Ronnie Edwards and Jack Taylor for starters. Wouldn’t mind signing Joe Ward either.
More likely to get him on loan from which ever Premier league club buys him for x million which is what Peterborough want . We actually did a Sheffield Wednesday once except didn’t need penalties ..
Probably, but as of right now, he hasn’t been linked with any Prem teams recently, all seems to have died down, unless I’ve missed something.
Ronnie Edwards is a great player, but isn’t he the opposite of an Ismael CB? Excellent on the ball, awful in the air. He’d also be very expensive. There’s a bunch of others I’d look at though: Jack Taylor and Joe Ward most of all, but maybe Poku, Mason-Clark and Burrows too.
From the limited amount I've seen of Peterborough they're quite good when attacking but can't really defend, similar to us towards the end of the season. Not sure how good an idea it would be to sign any of their defensive players. Jack Taylor should be a good signing for a Championship club, but it'd depend on what system we use as he mostly plays as the most advanced of a midfield 3 and I don't know if he puts himself about enough for a midfield 2. Mason-Clark could be a decent back-up player if cheap.
Getting linked with Ignacio Miramon along with a host of other clubs. A few South American football, knowledgeable people on here may have some more information.
Not watched him but looks an interesting profile. Good pressing and defensive numbers combined with some fun dribbling numbers
Some big clubs linked, so we shall wait and see if it's BS. Decent looking on YouTube but then again that ain't strange.
Bielik wouldn't be a bad option. Seemed decent on most showings I saw of him. Apart from getting his front teeth getting kicked out against Rotherham I can't seem to remember him picking up as my injuries.
Would be a great signing if he can stay fit (probably not with our medical team mind), can’t imagine he’d cost much either with 12 months left on his contract and Derby staying in league 1
6 yellow cards and 1 red card in 12 games, fantastic, sign him up I say. How we’ve missed a Holebas/Britos character.
Watching the NY Red Bulls because of Tolkin. Watched him a few times already this season. Highly doubt we could get him because of being in the RB family, however for a 20 yr LB, he is very good. He’s had a good season so far, and his set pieces are dangerous. Red Bulls are winning 2-1 at HT, their first coming from a Tolkin corner. The kid doesn’t stop running. If possible, I’m sure the NYRB would want somewhere between £5-7mil. Again I doubt we can do that or that they would let him go, but the kid has the potential to play at a much higher level. Can see him fitting in well in an Ismael system.
This article is suggesting that Cesare Casadei from Chelsea (was just at Reading on loan) is most likely joining us on loan, although they also think that Chris Wilder is still the manager, so possibly a load of rubbish: https://www.seriebnews.com/2023/05/25/casadei-in-b-via-libera-del-chelsea/
Made a decent impression at Reading. Their fans thought he should have played more but Ince turned to experience rather than quality towards the end of the season.
Big fan of him. Did really well at Reading considering it’s a new league, new country and awful team. Would be a quality signing.
Agreed. Bang average against us but is a massive talent. Definitely improved during his loan at Reading. Best player on the pitch against Brazil a few days ago. He has got everything that's required in a midfielder.
I'd stick my neck out on this and say he'd be a star for us. Poch owes us a favour for taking his kid on.
Been linked with Clarke Harris before but could he make the step up? Also isn’t particularly young is he . https://twitter.com/TheFLZone/status/1662062430766153728 Lou Orns says he is very one dimensional - only scores goals . I mean that is quite useful for a striker !
Ah cool, maybe we'll go from the Poundshop Deeney to the Poundshop Toney next season. Exciting times.
Knows where the back of the net is and is decent enough in the air and could probably make a half decent Championship striker, but think we could do better considering his age and probable cost. Disciplinary problems at a couple of the clubs he's been at previously and getting punished for homophobic tweets are also red flags
It's useful for a striker when you can actually score goals, but Clarke-Harris doesn't have a track record of doing that at Championship level (I know he hit double figures last season but half of those were pens)
We do love a 'could be decent as a squad option' don't we? Until of course, when they don't in fact become 'squad options' and play every game...
Coming to the end of his "peak", has had one average season in the Championship, has a bit of a "bad boy" past, won't improve us at all. Fits the horrific, laughable Pozzo model.
Trying to work out if there's any tat from Udinese that might end up here and Magic Marvin Zeegelaar has just scored and assisted for them today. Clearly wasn't up to much in the Premier League (although hampered slightly by being cracked with an Andy Carroll elbow about ten seconds into his debut) but wonder if we might see him as a cheap option for the Championship? Out of contract at the end of this season so would be a free. Other than that, hard to see anyone who'd be an option as the rest of their squad either play a fair bit or are very young. Possibly the two young Irish defenders Ebosele and Abankwah as they're not playing much and I don't believe Irish players need work permits in the post Brexit world?
