Ballsed it up last time by pulling out of the deal and going for Danny Rose instead. Still speaks well of us though and has his family home in Stevenage. Wouldn’t rule it out.
None of those with their ear to the ground seem to know anything. Seems like the club have really shut down leaks.
Hopefully we will be able to use some of the funds we received from selling Haaland to Citeh esp the performance related part of the fee. I don’t believe it was ever announced that he was in the Pozzo stable and only on loan to Dortmund. So frustrating that he wasn’t prepared to play in the championship.
Not trying to excuse the poor communication, but Is it possible that we don’t know what funds will be available yet, and therefore don’t have a plan yet for incoming players. Funds will presumably be dependent on trying to secure outside investment and/or further player sales.
Why would the club talk in detail in public about how much it has to spend on transfers? Though Manga has already said that because of the JP sale we will at least have some money to spend on transfers.
Agreed they wouldn’t. But one of the reasons why it’s quite on the transfer front is that it’s not clear what funds will be available. Obviously the fact that it’s the end of the season will be a big factor, but would have expected to hear more, even if it’s just romours
Would be interested to get some data and thoughts on these players @reids Amir Abedzadeh - GK - Ponferradina Leopold Querfeld - CB - Rapid Vienna Felipe Sanchez - CB - Gimnasia Djibril Diani - CM - SM Caen Tijjani Noslin - RW - Fortuna Sittard
According to Sky Sports: "The summer transfer window opens on Wednesday June 14 for all clubs in England and Scotland. Despite the domestic window opening on June 14, clubs will not able to sign players based overseas until the international window opens on Saturday July 1." https://www.skysports.com/football/...es-deadline-day-how-to-follow-with-sky-sports
Looks a decent enough all rounder! I did a report on him here - really liked him (http://wfcforums.com/index.php?threads/scouting-thread.59642/page-5#post-3225870). Good progressor of the ball, good enough defensively. Should get a move soon. Not sure on these stats, doesn't progress the ball at all and not convincing defensive stats. Superb defensively but doesn't offer much on the ball (Choudhury mk2) Jack of all trades, master of none. Decent enough all rounder but doesn't really excel at anything in particular.
Thanks so much @reids - really interesting to see. Was hard to find much data on most of these guys so this has helped get a better picture of them after discovering their profiles. I feel like there's going to definitely be free agent goalkeeper options for us that should in theory be upgrades on Bachmann. Hope we can do something smart there. Querfeld looks good, whether he'd already be making a bigger move than to us would be the question, but would love for us to make a couple of signings like that. Highly rated youth before they're fully top 5 league material. Interesting to see about Felipe Sanchez, the reason I asked about him is because Helena Costa has been in Argentina scouting the last few weeks (local games + U20 world cup) and he's someone she's recently followed on Instagram, and he's following her. So could be one to look out for, I guess she must have seen something there to have even thought to follow him.
Tbf it's hard to judge CBs purely on data so he might be better than the data suggests, so quite possible she's noticed something
Think he'd either scrape one or get it via the exceptions panel, Analytics FC GBE Calculator has him at 14/15 points needed but that excludes youth competitions and he's played a fair bit for Austria U19s and has been called up (didn't play) for their U21 squad.
Been out a while I think but it can be a bit hit and miss in its accuracy at times and doesn't include the full criteria which is frustrating, but it's a relatively good indicator nonetheless
Watching the Internacional vs Santos game just because it’s the best game on right now. Anyway Johnny Cardoso at Internacional is a young defensive mid that’s had a good game so far. First time I’m watching him so no clue if this is the norm for him but so far he’s won every tackle, made some good runs through the middle, picked some nice passes and read the game well. Watching him off the ball and his positional sense has been spot on. Made some good interceptions, but has largely marked the Santos players out of the game and cutting off the player around him as an option to pass to. Again, this may be a one off, but for his age, he’s been impressive.
He’s just been subbed in the 80th minute. Will be interesting to see if Internacional now start conceding more through the middle now.
I remember it seemed we had him for ages after he went off the boil following his miracle year, but it was only actually about 12 months - roughly Jan 2016 to Jan 2017.
