His recent record is utterly dire as well. Has done nothing since his loan spells in Holland a fair few years back. Not sure he’d be an improvement on Bayo to be quite honest.
You say that, but the exponential rate at which Bayo's value has been increasing, he must be worth c£15m by now ?
If we want any sort of fee for him, yes. Might be a couple of League Two clubs willing to take him on a free as a squad player...
Think this is harsh, scored 5 in 14 in Ligue 1 last season including really nice finishes away at PSG and Monaco. Definitely something about him - although I wouldn't be risking and sort of significant fee on him. Play development isn't linear, just look at Akpom!
Don’t think it’s dire, he just hasn’t played much. 20/21 for Cercle Brugge he got 16 in 30 90s and last season he got 9 goals in 16 90s for two clubs. He is homegrown and has a higher ceiling than Bayo but I think like Bayo he is a limited poacher type and definitely not worth forking out £5m for.
May I remind you that the only correct value of a player is on Transfermarkt, and they have him valued at €4mil, which is a drop of €1.8mil from the original fee we paid.
According to the article about Ugbo “Troyes are looking to sell the former England youth teamer for a minimum of five million pounds.” Crap player at rip off prices only ever means one thing…Welcome to Watford.
Highly doubt this. https://twitter.com/SamWallaceTel/status/1618310957381582850?cxt=HHwWhIDQ7brPsvUsAAAA
I don’t doubt that they looked at him. They are madly thrashing around for reinforcements and can’t even settle on a particular profile (Arnautovic, Danjuma, Pedro, Ndiaye). Desperately looking for players who will sign for an initial loan with some sort of obligation because they can’t dispense with their short-termism. But they won’t be signing him. Obviously.
I'm sure we will bring in a CB before the deadline but we do have Abbott who is the real deal, much better and more potential than Pollock. He may get a look in for the squad this weekend with less options around. He's really a player for a couple of seasons time but needs must if we haven't got anyone through the door within 36 hours.
Not sure if this was based on info - but Michael Obafemi is going to Burnley, which is probably Swansea's major sale done for this window.
Seems like it’s a loan with obligation for £4m. Which isn’t much and also isn’t money in the bank now. Still can’t see us going for Grimes though given his stature at Swansea and the fee that would be required.
Imagine the scenes if we confirm the signing of Porteous today.... a central defender and ....on a Thursday ..... the first time in the clubs history that something would of happened on a Thursday ..... See you in the pond !!!
With Louza back in training, maybe that’s why we’re not looking to sign a CM now? Louza has returned sooner than expected maybe.
Good price too from the sounds of things. There well set now with their ownership from the looks of things, though can’t fathom why they haven’t hired a good manager.
Interesting. I thought the photo which the club just put out looked more seasonal in contrast and he’s also wearing different boots.
Ah. Yes. The photo on his Instagram that @Markoa$ shared I think is old. I also would have thought that Davis would be in a different category. Either he’s further off or the others are nearer!
Only 18 months left on his deal now, plus although he's still been very good at times this season he's not been as consistently excellent as he was in the previous one.
