Think anyone who uses them seems like they are smug and self important and so am natural anti. But I’m also a hypocrite who has used them from time to time.

    Huh?

I don’t eat cereal. Or breakfast, for that matter. Well, unless it is paid fot, in which case I enjoy a bowl of corn flakes.

I mean, I don’t really see the attraction of the fruit thing, but I wouldn’t have a problem in eating it. Probably a banana.

I really am baffled. It’s delicious. Especially with tortilla chips.

Thought you were throwing your hands up in disgust a couple of years ago about mixing fruit berries with cereal? Maybe I dreamt it. You really should eat breakfast. You’re a grown man, you should know that ;)

Air fryer update for those who missed the live Shoutbox:

Homemade chips turned out much, much better than when done in the oven. No matter which type of non-stick tray we use, they tend to stick unless we use loads of oil, which makes them too greasy. The air fryer got them crispy, soft in the middle and a lovely golden brown all over.

Homemade chicken goujons, likewise. Panko breadcrumb coating stuck and went a lovely golden brown. Took only 9 minutes too. Decided to turn them rather than shake them, especially early on when I was concerned the breadcrumb would just go all over the place.

Wondering whether to do jacket potatoes in the air fryer. Other family members are not convinced they'll crisp on the outside but I'm going to give them a whirl.

I am not convinced by these videos of people cooking an entire three-course meal in one but can already see that it has some big advantages over a conventional oven.

This is certainly something that @hornmeister objects to. Mind you, he is a ridiculously fussy eater who makes you look omnivorous.

I haven’t eaten breakfast regularly since I was a kid. Maybe when I retire?

I do jackets regularly, TBH I find them a bit disappointing, although it saves about 30 mins of oven time.

    Roasties are very good, though.

Exactly this. Now Mrs D finishes them off in the air fryer after the oven has done it's job which helps a great deal.

Disappointing how? Just not the right balance between crispy skin and soft, fluffy insides?

Yes, basically. Also I find mine are often undercooked.

Why not cook them for a bit longer?

Well, I often end up cooking for an hour and a quarter but get fed up after that.

I should say that these are usually big bastards, they are my main meal on a weekday.

Blast in the microwave then finish by baking in the oven. Easy. And after that you can take the air fryer to the tip.

Can confirm jacket potatoes in the air fryer are excellent, don’t listen to your relatives!

I've ordered a standing desk from Amazon. Arriving tomorrow and I'll take it straight to the tip. That'll show 'em.

I suggest you simply set the tip as a new address on your Amazon account and they can deliver it there for you, saving you the bother ? Just select your “safe place to leave stuff if you are out” as “on top of the nearest black bin bag” and you don’t need to be there when it’s dumped.

Chuck some Avo in a bowl, add a bit of olive oil, salt, pepper, some lime juice, paprika and chili flakes, mash it all up with a fork and serve on sourdough toast. Incredible.

I (think) I did 180c for 45 mins, turned, same again for 10-15 mins more just to ensure the skin crisps up perfectly.
