    I’ll admit it’s difficult to tell whether this is a ‘whoosh’ or not. It’s also probably very tedious for everyone else.

    Yes, the photo attachment in the post to which I originally responded.

    It was a PPC. I only read this part.
    https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/private-parking-tickets/. Seemed to suggest that if it's my error then it might be counterproductive to fight it.

    If you go through the appeals process they won't/can't charge you any more. It's a few hour's work, c&p'ing some stuff, maybe taking pictures but most of these PPC are just a bunch of ex-clampers whose 'knowledge' of the law is basic. They're geared up to send you a load of pre-written 'threatograms' that contain nothing but jargon and finally pass your details onto a debt recovery service who, fortunately, seem to have identical postal addresses as the issuing PPC...

    Same as Bwood_Horn says, you can and will avoid this ridiculous fine. It's very likely others have posted on MSE about the same school, so search for the school name and parking company name on MSE and there's a good chance you'll have someone done the legwork for you already.

    What a boring snooker final, between two undistinguished and undeserving finalists.

    Ruined as usual by the pantomime commentary of the awful John Virgo.

    Thank goodness it’s over.

    Back to radio 2 and Roslin shrieking and yelling from 6.30am. Grrr

    And Emma Hayes, don’t even get me started

    I'm with you on this. I found his commentary on the snooker last night very condescending, overly criticising players in World Championship final despite having never made it himself. Dennis Taylor was far better when he came on after the interval

    Undeserving. One came through qualifying! The great thing about The World Championship is the length of the matches as even if you have a dip in form it gives you a chance to rectify it. I enjoyed it to be fair and it's nice not see Ronnie O'Sullivan showing off by playing left handed

    Have to disagree. I've not felt too great over the weekend so watched nearly all of the semi finals and final, thoroughly enjoyed all of it.

    Yes, Taylor and Hendry were terrific, I agree.

    I like Doherty, but he does talk too much, over analysing, trying to create drama by implying every shot was a mistake and the next shot is almost impossible.

    Virgo has just become a pantomime act, making it more about him and his catchphrases.

    The other day I watched the final frame again of the 1985 final. When Davis missed the final black, the commentator said ‘No’. Just one simple word. But so so effective and memorable. I dread to think how the drama of that black ball finish would have been spoilt now by the likes of Virgo.

    Simplicity usually works best on tv commentary. Some of today’s commentators would do well to remember that.

    Wilson looks like he might nick your kid's toys out the garden. Very sly look to him.

    They both deserved to be there on merit, but by God the quality was down. Harking back to days of yore, there would never be this many mistakes in a final. So many basic misses and errors. The standard is well down.

    Sports that are boring;

    Tennis
    Snooker
    Marathon
    Tour De France

    Sport that is boring on TV but probably ok live;

    F1
    Rugby

    Sport that is good live, but shouldn't be;

    Darts
    Cricket

    Largely agree, although several on here will disagree about tennis. I used to enjoy it, but now find it boring.

    Where do you stand on athletics?

    put marathon into the ok live. The atmosphere in London on marathon day is amazing. Compared to Paris where its soulless

    and watching the elite runners sprint round the course is a sight to behold. As is my admiration for the ordinary folk that run for the charities

    Personally I find the 800m\1500m and 4 by 4 relays exciting as they are long enough to build up the tension but not too long whereby your interest can be lost very quickly if for example you are watching the marathon.
    1976 Alberto Juantorena 4 by 400 relay Olympic final. The greatest 3\4 of a circuit you will ever see !!
    He started the final leg so far behind he was needing snookers and was on the shoulder of the leaders on the home stretch, unfortunately he gassed out in the end!!

    Love the Tour de France and enjoying the Giro d'Italia right now. Love cricket and the darts too.

    Boring sports for me are F1 and anything involving a horse.

    I find marathon live boring unless I know who is winning the whole time, so I run alongside the front runners all race to truly enjoy it.

    I only really enjoy football and cricket on tv, and only football live as you can’t really see what is happening at live cricket, how much the ball is deviating etc.

    I used to enjoy tennis on tv but have really lost interest over the last 5-10 years. Not really sure why.

    F1 used to be interesting when there were some really close finishes to the title race, some only decided on the final race. Then the debacle where they stole Hamilton’s title by bending the rules and since then it’s just a procession, utterly boring and pointless.

    athletics - meh.
    Golf - 90% meh but can be good when there’s a close finish on the final day. Good to have on in the background and look up for the key moments.
    Horses - rubbish, just an activity for betting
    Rugby - meh
    Boxing - the big fights can be a good watch but otherwise meh.
    Cycling - meh but the recent Armstrong- the lie documentary was really interesting.

    It's Scylla and Charibdis for me. I defended Gaby earlier because she's not Zoe, but I have grown to loathe her just as much.
