The Premier League - 2021-2022

With a couple of exceptions, a pitiful performance from Arsenal. Well done Brentford, but they were lucky to have such an easy first fixture.

 

Annoyingly Arteta will be sacked by the time we play them.

 

Only another 30 points for Brentford needed

 

Why on earth are they singing Hey Jude?

 

They think The Beatles are from Ealing.

 

Arsenal unsurprisingly toothless when missing their 3 main strikers.

Brentford played basically like a fancy Stoke - lack quality, but tough to break down and a real threat from set-pieces. Even have a similar kit.

They won't have many easier games than that all season, but they're going to be very annoying.

 

Something like that. I don't think we managed another 30 shots combined in the rest of Flores' second time here.

 

Are Arsenal...our relegation rivals?

Didn't think Brentford were that good, Arsenal were an utter shambles. Brentford to finish bottom, you heard it here first.

A brilliant watch, thoroughly enjoyed that but Arsenal were so poor, wow. Great atmosphere, good to see.

It’s crazy how far Arsenal have fallen after Wengers departure I mean that starting 11 is a joke. Arteta will be gone for sure soon and unless they appoint a top manager they will be bottom half or even worse this year.

 

We won't have any relegation rivals we will be too far behind everyone else to class them as rivals. In all seriousness though Arsenal looked terrible, Arteta looks clueless. Although I guess he is just Pep Guardiolas cone collector.

 

After tonight we’ve been left needing snookers.

 

As much as we think our squad is poor we tend to forget how poor much of the premier league is. Arsenal had poor side out, very weak up front and at the back.
Feeling a bit more optimistic about tomorrow but no doubt things will all come crashing down.

 

Brentford now 11/8 for relegation. Slap it on now before their next game.

 

What are Arsenal’s odds?

 

Brentford remind me of Blackpool when they were in the EPL. They will be fun to watch in the first half of the season then get relegated.

 

I don't think Brentford will stroll to safety despite tonight's result, but they're a lot more Premier League ready than Blackpool ever were

 

Arsenal were poor and limp right back to the latter Wenger years. Don’t put it all on the managers. The players have been hugely to blame for their attitude.

 

The thing is that Aubameyamg and Lacazette don't really improve the side any more either.

 

Yep, neither of them look like they actually want to be there.

 

There are only 4 or 5 teams we can realistically hope to finish above. The fact that one of those teams has picked up 3 points and a confidence/morale boosting win may be very relevant if we finish a few points below them at the end of the season.

 

I think Brentford are paving the way for LGBT+ rights by having a transgender manager, lovely to see.

Very ominous result indeed. If we lose at home to villa we're as good as down.

 

If Xisco stays with us all season and manages to keep us up, that makes him our greatest manager under the Pozzo's imo. We would then, likely, have bigger clubs sniffing around.

 

Arsenal will probably beat one of the big teams in the next few games. It’s how they roll

We've got a tougher opening fixture than Brentford. Villa are much better than Arse.
