Tricky last 3 games for Norwich, QPR, Reading and Barnsley, it's still possible you know! Wouldn't be putting any money on it mind you!
Shows how unpredictable and how hard it is to predict these results, especially at the end of the season. 4/14 correct Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
As it stands the maximum points that our rivals who mathematically could still catch us are: - Brentford's Max points are 87 Muff's Max points are 86 Swansea's Max Points are 85 We currently have 85 points, therefore 3 more points would get us to 88 points which would see us clear in the 2nd automatic promotion spot and nobody would be able to catch us. Furthermore the Max points Norwich can get are 99, and they are currently on 90. The Max points we can get are 94 points so Norwich need 5 points to guarantee the title, and their remaining games are no cake walk. They have QPR Away; Reading at Home and Barnsley Away so they could still easily slip up and let us in. So roll on Saturday, and lets start catching Norwich by smashing Millwall and hunting Norwich down..... WE COULD STILL WIN THIS TITLE
Perhaps a team from South Yorkshire will score a very late equalising goal to send the top slot south.
Mine have been worse. A few of these recent Swansea and Brentford results have been good old coupon busters. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
So the two massive, season defining crunch games against Brentford and Swansea are now rendered meaningless dead rubbers. We can just relax and let them play out while our already vanquished opponents sweat about the playoffs. What an utterly joyous state of affairs.
Not much sweating about the play-offs to be done in the next two weeks now that the four teams are decided. It’s just a question of sorting out who plays who. I’d still like to see Brentford make it; Barnsley second choice.
Following our loss last weekend and Norwich winning yesterday I think winning the league is not very likely. I expect the both Brentford and Swansea whilst wanting to finish the regular season strongly will probably rotate to get match fitness of fringe players and protect their important players now the play offs are guaranteed for them both.
Those wins against Norwich and Millwall turned out to be crucial given that Brentford and Swansea didn't drop points in fixtures they were expected to this weekend.
For 3 of the 4 playoff teams, the season is going to end in utter heartbreak. All their hard work for nothing. All their dreams shattered. Lol!
Forgot about Reading scoring when I posted that. I doubt they’ll even get to the final on recent form.

Gray starts. Was crap. As predicted. Success comes on. Was crap. As predicted. Sema starts. Was crap. That's the way it has been lately. Wilmot and Perica given 5 minutes. Why only that? Hungbo played well. Shame he had to go off.
Was it just as well we got promoted last week, or were we simply on the piss? You'd imagine we'd have taken the risk on some of the players had the game had something on it tbf
Even if we'd drawn to Millwall, 2 points from the last two games wouldn't have been a certainty, thank **** we got the job done!
I think Pericia should be given a run out in the final game, IMO he has been unfairly treated of late as he always looks better than Gray or Success whenever he manages to get on the pitch. Just look at yesterday, he was only on the pitch for a few minutes and he did better than Gray & Success put together in that short time.
It's annoying being, a new term I learnt during the ESL fiasco, a "legacy" fan. You know the type of supporter who expected their team to challenge for first place. I fully understand the "...not challenging for top spot due to the risk of injuries..." and the entertainment versus sport argument but I do feel a little short-changed.
As long as it's only from the bench I don't mind, and if he stays next season "The Bench" should be his starting position at best, unless he is needs to start during an injury crisis.
I think it was always inevitable unfortunately. I know over five seasons it’s a completely different team now, but throughout our time in the PL we consistently switched off after getting to 40 points. Was it the mazzari season we got to 40 and then lost our last 6 and finished 17th? There is probably a stronger argument to keep going in the PL as each place is worth £2m whereas it makes no difference at all in the championship, you’d assume Gino would want the money, but even assuming he did then it clearly was never taken seriously by the players or coaches. It was therefore never going to happen in the championship for a meaningless trophy.
We didn't really stand much chance of being champions. Hungbo deserved a start now that the pressure's off, and so did Cathcart and Kaba who lost their place through injury. Gray didn't, of course, and those two early injuries showed that we'd run out of viable subs. Ken is off form and the other two up front are useless and need to be binned this summer. I'd love to know why Wilmot and Perica have been out in the cold, though. Illness, injury, family issues, bad behaviour or just that Xisco doesn't rate them?
We can't knock Xisco too much seeing what we've done since he came in, but his treatment of Ngakia, Wilmot and Perica has been a bit weird, all three of them have got hardly any minutes in their actual positions since he came in, and I dare say Quina and Garner didn't fancy their chances of getting into the team with Xisco at the helm neither
Dunno - in my coaching of kids sports (rugby and hockey) I always tried to instil an ethos of "...giving 110% effort for the entire 80 mins..." and "...heads always up...". If the other team was getting battering, and if I had the luxury of a 'full bench', I would think about giving some of me less confident players more games time.
Saturday's game reinforced the need to strengthen as did the first Tranmere game last season, as some of the fringe players don't even look good enough to be backup, at least in combination with one or more other players who aren't starter quality.
