They definitely said on the early BBC news this evening that GB had lost to France in the Davis Cup and had not made the knockout stage. Idiots.

Well at least it got a mention I suppose!
I once said "bad luck " to a regional player I was looking after at a tournament. She had won!

In my flimsy defence I was watching about five others simultaneously and she'd hardly won a point when I'd watched!

Didn’t Gerard Piqué head up a company that changed the format .

Trouble is unless it’s the home nation then people aren’t interested?

France v the Swiss was played in Manchester for example with one man and his dog there ?

    Why wouldn't he?

He says it's his top priority for the remainder of the year and he's only one the DC once I think?

Moreover he's very much a patriot.

I'd be amazed if he didn't.

    Astonishing.

I have charities falling overthemselves to offer us funding for community/schools projects.

A school lined up but they won't walk the twenty minutes to Hazelwood for the STEM learning, the tennis and the meal, all provided by the charity!

No wonder coaches don't engage with schools. Most of those we contact don't even reply.
Some have incorrect email addresses on their websites!

    Baffling.

    Scenario:

    An LTA Talent ID Squad.

Ten,10 and under players. On this day two boys and eight girls.

The lead coach sternly rebukes the boys for perceived lack of effort, Infront of the group.

Would you do so or take them aside individually or as a twosome?

Evans playing very well against Alcatraz but lost the first on a tie break.

Evans served for 80% of the time!

The annual madness from the head of the Hoddesdon primary school raises its Cerberus like head, for the ninth consecutive year!

She that does not listen has asked for my accreditation documents.

    Fine.

DBS, First Aid and Safeguarding all sent.

    Can't see them.

    Open the email Mary.

One week later " the insurance is not up to date".

I ask my friend Jo Ward, head of tutoring. She asks someone in coach ed.

" It is a generic document for all accredited coaches and is updated annually When we update it,it will show 2023/24".

As far as I was aware it's still 2023.

The head is not satisfied with this.

I toyed with suggesting that Scott Lloyd has more cleaners at the NTC than she has staff but replied,to the poor sod who is the office manager, " I shall return to the school when Mary confirms,in writing, she is satisfied with my accreditation".

Like Achilles by my black ships,I await the return from Agamemnon of my prize!

When she has finished taking over the NGB she can resolve the Gaza problem, something that successive generations have failed to do since we carved up the Middle East with the French.

She can then solve global warming.

    Insulting.

Another fool has sent an email to secondary schools advising them of a teacher training day on Tuesday next.

    It's November 17,not October.

    They're all useless!

    Friday 13th?

Very well, batty old head teacher at Sheredes Primary School notwithstanding!

    Honestly!

Perhaps she can split the atom and single handedly win University Challenge too in half term?!

Three emails later AND the LTA have bought a new insurance document.

I haven't told the head, who called, emailed and texted me within three minutes at 9pm on Sunday night.

I had prepared a reply, not telling her I knew there was a new policy, but that it was beyond my remit.

She replied,as I had requested on Friday, that she was satisfied with my accreditation.

    Conclusion?

She hadn't read the emails I had sent to her office manager.

    What a waste of time.

Why don't people communicate with each other?

    Football club owners, teachers..

Hannah Klugman beats Gauff's record as youngest match winner in a WTA event,W100 at Shrewsbury.

She plays fellow Brit Thingy today. Sorry can't remember her name. Reminds me of Issey Miyake.

    No in general.
Did Neil and Ken win on the tour?

    I've forgotten if they had.

    Evans crocked.
Calf injury forces him to retire when 4-1 up against Tiafoe.
    Tricky for the DC.

Difficult to maintain the year/ eighteen months he had.
Done by the physicality of his play. No real big shot. Big heart and lungs.
    Unsustainable long term.
This is probably his natural level.
Someone who has maximised his talent.

Just retire. If you no longer enjoy it and you know you've no chance of being a top player again just call it a day

True - he hardly wins a round or two now so surely doesn't just want to be going around the world for half a week or so.

Has 4 kids apparently too - you think'd Murray might want some family time?

Yes it was. He’s a good player and maybe better than his ranking. I recall he reached the quarters at Wimbledon. I think CA was coming back from an injury too.

I’ve been following the women’s event in Mexico too. World number one Sabalenka is already out (it’s a group format to start with) after spending most of her time moaning about the surface. She lost last night to Pegula, who has now won five matches in a row against top ten players.

Today Coco plays Iga, which should be fun!
