    Medivet wins Rotterdam beating Sinner.

Alcaraz returns in Argentina and beats Norrie.

Ominous for the rest of the tour.

Good wins for Broady and Murray ( friend of Porteous apparently..) in Qatar .

Murray plays Zverev next, he'll win that.

    Broady plays Medivet,six games maximum.

Evans loses to Jakanory and Norrie wins in Rio or somewhere the same.

Not sure how fit Zverev is but good win for Murray in 3 sets .

See my post of 11.26am yesterday.

No way Zverev wins that match.

I'm struggling to think of a win since his return and even top 5 players will struggle with confidence if they're not winning.

X the unknown factor is just how bad his injury was. Will it finish him like JMDP's wrist did?

Does he need a year to get back ?

Does he need to step down, like Agassi did to Challenger level to gain some wins?

Some might say it's karma for the abuse case regarding his former girlfriend.

    Who knows?

That is true - the more he struggles trying to get fit the worse his ranking will get meaning less chance to get back to the top .

Murray outlasts qualifier Alexandre Muller to play Lehecka in the semi final.

    Lehecka beats Ruble in two.

Murray took the first set off Lehecka 6-0 but looks like the young Czech is going to bounce back and take the next 2.

Although this is Andy so who knows!

Well we know what Murray is like - never gives in and has made into the final in Doha.

Won the decider on a tie break after breaking Lehecka when he was serving for the set.

For once the draw has been favourable to Murray or since his comeback at least.

Never beaten until the handshake,an admirable example to all.

Will be toughest test yet against Medivet.

Swiatek crushing the ball and Gauff in Dubai.

True but Barbora is also a major tournament winner so is always capable.

Has had her fair share of injuries and the attendant lack of form that inevitably accompanies this.

    Form temporary,class permanent.

Norrie beats Carlos Alcaraz in Rio.

Great performance from him on the clay .

    Congratulations.

EDIT: Oh apparently Garcia was injured in the last set but still got to take advantage.

Both seem a bit injury/illness prone which isn't a good sign as you say.

Thank goodness we're playing our Middlesex Cup semi final at Cumberland then.

As much fun as a smear test.

Jack Draper wins the battle of the Brits in Indian Well.

Emma Raducanu into the erd round round too but will probably go out then as she plays Świątek.

I like the sound of an ' erd round '!

    Anarchy at Hoddesdon!

The Fishwife has somehow managed to place her floppy haired 18 year old son as men's first team captain.

Despite the fact that two long standing and legitimate first team men had agreed to do the job.

Cue immediate exodus of first team guys.

The Fishwife will have her wish. Her one ball in six in court son WILL play for the first team this summer. Trouble is no one else will!

Still the net curtains that pass for a barrier between the tennis and cricket clubs has not been replaced. However it's only seven months since a little girl was four inches from death and an adult struck on the arm by a flying cherry. At least a fortnight for it to appear,no need to panic!

    I'm off!

I've agreed to coach at Hazelwood from April.

I hope to remain at Hoddesdon for as long as possible for the fabulous people I coach but the club is in almost as bad a place as our football club.

    It must be me!

Good win for Norrie v Rublev .

Unsurprisingly the other Brits lost .

Presume Djokovic is still banned from the US?

Norrie would drive and did drive Ruble potty!

Yes, although concerning that JD injured again.

    Yes ND is.

Comeback in Monte, like we all do!

I found it cathartic to post that!

If there was a manual on how NOT to run a tennis club, Hoddesdon have nailed it in 2023.

Ian Latchford,TMFT to me now* was bemused as to why there were only two at men's team practice last night. He said " I think I'm in the first pair at this rate".

I replied " You Are the team Ian!"

Nothing wrong with tennis. Everything wrong with most tennis clubs.

Bit of a shock that one but then Rybakina is in good form?

She's a major winner so can win big matches on the biggest stage.

What is surprising is the comparative ease of the score.

However I didn't watch it and haven't seen the stats. Perhaps IS didn't take her chances.

    One moment...

Rybakina was 5/5 from break points.

    Swiatek 1/4.

Rybakina 7 aces to Swiatek 1.

    That is quite telling.

A big serve gets you a long way, especially in the female game where few have one.
