Look at old footage of his serve.
Ask anyone with knowledge of the game.
They will tell you he has made himself possibly the most successful winning machine ever. Huge credit to him for that but he's not a natural like Federer, Kyrgios, McEnroe,Agassi, Navratilova,Henin, etc etc.

Describing him as 'not a natural tennis player", we'll just agree to disagree on that one. :)

Nasty Nick is going to do a Boris, and blame all around him if he mucks this up - oh dear he just has mucked it up.

He was better with the woman talking to him - he didn’t drop his service games with her coaching tips in his ears. Let’s hope she comes back from the bar to help him win set four.

You're taking it as if he has bubonic plague!
If anything it's a testament to his work ethic and dedication.
Plenty of more talented players of my age and younger never got near to ND's level.
    Same in many sports.
This is part of ND's problem,he wants to be everything.
Can't accept that he's not loved like RF and Rafa.
The patriot that tried to gain GB citizenship when his parents didn't think he was getting a fair deal from Tennis Serbia.
Most tennis players and fans find him transparent.
They admire his skill as a competitor etc but they do not warm to him, however much you support him.
Looks like he's in the ascendency here so enjoy his success.
Everyone else will just be glad Kyrgios will have lost,if he does.

That's another Nabokov altogether IBB. Sad to say Lolita is the only work I've read of his. He wrote several other well regarded novels after he emigrated from Russia.

Djokovic likes a good old comeback doesn’t he .

Guess that is why he is a champion.

Last Wimbledon interview for Sue coming up .

It’s impossible to think Rafa wouldn’t have made it a better final today.

So the men’s number one seed wins again, without having to face anybody in the world too ten. Cushy draw. Easy slam for him.

No doubt he will overtake Rafa now and well done to him.

I know who I would rather watch though.

    Lovely speech btw. Class.

    Updated for your viewing pleasure.

    Djokovic 21
    Nadal 19
    Federer 8

The record number of weeks at no 1 in the world (373 weeks).
    ------------------------------------------------------

Due to Covid bans at USA and Australia, he's unlikely to get an opportunity to extend it.

Nice tribute to Sue Barker on her last day for the Beeb at Wimbledon.

Yes and thank goodness she's kept to the chardonnay and not the Botox like Evert and Shriver.
    Well done to her.
Excellent player and has done that job brilliantly for thirty years.
    Good company too.

Gosh what a shock. You’d have thought they’d have mentioned it a few hundred times during the tournament. Strange they kept it so quiet

    Why?
Djokovic took everything Kyrgios could offer and bettered it.
Part of being an athlete is being fit and Rafa wasn't and will struggle to be so given the hard court swing now.
He's been a fantastic champion and ridiculous on the dirt but I'll be surprised if we see him win a major again.
Father Time has caught up with him as it has RF.
I have no idea how Castle gets the top job.
Bradnam or Mullins would do a better job,as would Sam Smith.

Sam Smith is probably the worst of the lot imo. Has zero insight into what's happening on court, and talks about the player's off screen life and a few stats written down just so that she has something to day.

That's not to say I think Andrew Castle is good, he comes out with some cr*p offen.

If I'm being honest, most of them get on my nerves at times, the ones I don't mind are Mcenroe, Henman, Tracey Austin, Navratilova, and that Scottish generic sports fella whose name escapes me.
In other words nearly all who have picked up a racquet and gone deep in a grand slam or 2.

It will be difficult for Novak as well I think. If the bans in the USA and Australia stand, he will be approaching 36 years old at the French Open, and past 36 years old when Wimbledon comes around. Age catches up with us all.

Mark Petchey and Peter Fleming are the best but the BBC choose not to use Petch and Fleming has been marginalized for some reason.
Andrew Cotter is good,as are Alice (?) and Mable his labs!
Sam Smith is extremely bright, quite quirky and DOES have insight. She knows both tours inside out, having been a top 80 player, the fact I've beaten her has no relevance in my opinion!
Annabelle Croft has also improved dramatically in the last few years.
McEnroe, oddly for a New Yorker, talks too much for my liking.
Martina is good as is TA. Henman I like listening to but his excessive hand gestures are irritating.

Strange goings on at the Chandos v Hazelwood title decider last night.
2-1 to Shambles after the first round, we're all waiting for the home team to return to the courts.
Two pairs do after about five minutes.
One player seen getting into her car and leaving the club rather quickly.
No one tells us for five minutes by which time we've put two and two together.
Their captain eventually tells us that "she's injured".
She was fine a minute before the match ended from what I could see.
Hazelwood win the match and the title and the player concerned probably isn't going to be flavour of the month at Shambles in the near future!
    Chandos!
