I'm not sure why this conversation is continuing given that post 2280 clearly stated 'End of'. ;)

Well at least he got his game early. He's not in the slightest bit English anyway.

Even his parents are Scottish and Welsh !

TBF doing well this set ..

Might wake Djokovic up though .

Well I just glanced at the score. 6-2 to ND for the first set, 1-1 in the second, pretty much in line with my expectations.
    Wait a minute.....

No intensity from Djokovic. No fire in his belly as it were. Unusual. Norrie loving it I bet lol

Those on Court One saw a great comeback by Alfie Hewitt !

Twice down in sets 2 and 3 then came back to win .

Without doubt but he got more games than I was expecting. Not English anyway :)

Shame but predictable I guess .

Probably be the same on Sunday.

Kyrgios wins a set then Novak dominates.

    Think Kyrgios might win.
BBC commentators still trying to make this into a contest. "No room for any errors now, Cam" :). That horse bolted a very long time ago.

Got no chance of breaking his serve .

    My favourite player too.
He signed my autograph book at Nottingham in '78 when my Mother called him a "meanie" for getting a Coke and not signing immediately!
He came back and said " your Mom called me a meanie,I'm not, honestly".
    My Mother agreed!
Saw him give a speech. He came onto the stage and said "What do you want to know?"
    One off!

    Outstanding wheelchair doubles.
Alfie Hewett seems to have been on court all day!
Won a three hour singles before this.

I'm supporting the Tunisian woman today. She seems nicer than the Russian.

Think the BBC and Wimbledon probably are hoping Jabeur does too !

Just in and it's very tense!
Jabeur has one remaining break point for 3 all..

Jabeur was poor after first set. She let her frustrations take over from what I can see.

    The irony!
A Russian wins under the Kazak flag.
Almost inevitable given the number of players they've "found".
    Money talks as ever.

Bet it was all a bit awkward but fair play to her - she has played well throughout .

Happening far too often in sports often using shady money. Bublik is another. Corruption is rife in Kazakhstan. Yes there is still a sizeable ethnic Russian population in Kazakhstan but she is a Muscovite. Funnily enough the Russian ice hockey team did pinch a couple of Kazakh born players in the past who were ethnic Russians. Notably Evgeny Nabokov.

Azerbaijan are also going down this route. Sport washing to improve their image.

    But not Lolita?!
Mr IBB said it's the first time he's heard a player reference an administrator in a victory speech.
I think the chap's name is Bourat (?) and he's put £15m of his money into Kazak tennis. He made it from "finding" the iron ore.
Almost the entire Kazak BJK Cup team and DC team are Russian.
However as I've said before GB tennis hasn't the best track record.
Ask Tennis Canada what they thought about Rusedski swapping the maple leaf for the union flag. Not a lot!
Since Jeremy Bates was GB number 1 it has guaranteed 1m per annum.
Superb men's doubles last night and Purcell nearly took Pavic's head off with a forehand in the fourth set.
Pavic played with a fractured right wrist which limited his return but the Aussies were worthy winners.
A charmed tournament given they were mps down in the first round and saved five against Ram and Salisbury.
Please may Djokovic win and I don't say that lightly!

An enjoyable ladies final and a totally deserved winner. Well done Elena. She beat two grand slam champions, the most recent slam runner up and then the world number two. A tough draw and she came through with flying colours. (Novak incidentally could win the title today without having played anybody in the world top ten)

The born in Russia thing is just a smokescreen. People change countries all the time. Just look at the England cricket team that won the World Cup. She moved for funding issues and yesterday showed she made the correct decision. It was scandalous of Wimbledon to ban Russians and Belarussians, so I for one enjoyed the irony of yesterday.

In a funny way, Jabeur almost wanted it too much. She couldn’t control her inner emotions and it caught up on her. A lovely lady though and I’m sure many people hope she will come back stronger next year with more knowledge of how to handle things and have another go at winning it.

What to say about today? I’ve never been a Kyrios fan and by rights I should be aghast at him being in the final, especially after the Tsitipas match and then these unsavoury allegations of assault. And yet I’ve found myself warming to him this week. He’s probably the most natural player in the men’s game and has a real chance today, although he’s undoubtedly been helped by the banning of Medvedev who would have been top seed in his half of the draw, plus the unfortunate withdrawals of Rafa and Berretini. Just think, he was behind in the 5th set to a British player on the first day of the tournament! He’s gone from the near miss of a first round exit to being one match away from winning it. For better or worse, if he does today it would be the biggest shake-up in the men’s game for many years. There’s a very confused human being there, but a guy who also does a lot of good work for charities back in Australia. It would be interesting to see how he’d carry the mantle of being Wimbledon champion. Part of me hopes he will be, and not only because it would keep Rafa two ahead in the race to be goat! Lets just hope it’s a good match!

"He’s probably the most natural player in the men’s game" - really? what about the player he's playing today?

Wonder who the crowd will support more - Djokovic isn't the most popular but of course Kyrgios divides opinion.

I think the crowd and BBC/media really wanted Jabeur which probably got to her whilst Rybakina has no pressure and stayed very composed and calm even in celebration!

Personally I think that Kyrgios is unpleasant and for some reason why I just don’t like Djokovic. So I will go for the unpleasant to beat the unlikeable.

on another note, why is Prince George made to wear a tie while attending the match? He must be the only 8 year old boy in Britain forced to wear one on a Sunday in a heatwave! Cant the club send him a junior hornets tee shirt to make the poor little boy look like a child of the 21st century?

Djokovic is a phenomenal gymnast and competitor but not a natural tennis player.
Look at the mess he got himself into with his serve ten years ago. He was bowling it in!
Djokovic will have to raise his game.
I'm unsure as to why Archie Andrews is in the front row of the Royal Box.
    Emu as umpire?
Lord Charles on the centre service line?
