Teide1's Score Prediction League Leaderboard 23/24

Match 34 results, some very odd results, no one scored anything with Middlesbrough's home defeat to Plymouth with 23 correct predictions, @The Voice of Reason @EB Hornet and @Horace_goes_up_north were top with 20 points mostly helped by their automatic number generator coming up with a lazy 2-1, last was myself and @HappyHornet24 with a pathetic 5 points. with @watford willy failing to predict!

 

Leaderboard @Manatleisure extends their lead from 5 points to 11 points over @wfc4ever, @Westsydneyhornet hanging in on 3rd place, with @The Voice of Reason and @The undeniable truth have both jumped up 2 places into 4th and 5th respectively. Down at the bottom its as you were!,

I’ve had a bad season but generally thought 2-1 for those games!

 

Looks like you caught 2 nibbles with that fishing rod @Teide1 haha!

 

It was a polite way of saying, keeping to the same score every week, like throwing it up in the air and hoping some stick! obviously works as you are 4th and I'm 19th!

 

Match 35 results, with just 7 correct predictions (6 were in the Roth/Sheff Wed game) scores were lower, however @TomWatfordFC @SkylaRose and @wfcwarehouse all managed to score 31 points with one correct prediction and the other results all correct. Down at the bottom @Dreadnought got a miserable 7 points joined by last minute.com @HappyHornet24 who was unable to get a signal in a village pub and failed to transmit through their predictions!

 

Leaderboard after 35 games, @Manatleisure has increased their lead over @wfc4ever by 6 points, with @Westsydneyhornet @The undeniable truth and @The Voice of Reason still in 3rd, 4th and 5th place respectively. Down at the bottom @watford willy still bottom but has caught up a few points on @Cassetti's Beard.

 

Match 36 results, @With A Smile got 3 out of the 4 correct results inc both draws with 36 points, 2nd was @K9 Hornet and @EB Hornet both with 28 points, bottom I'm afraid was @PowerJugs with a miserable 4 points with the other three receivers of 4 points not predicting

Much like Watford's Season, mine is also petering out.

 

Match 37 results, with 30 correct predictions a few people managed to get 2 correct, top of the pile goes to @Westsydneyhornet with 32 points followed by @wfc4ever and @Manatleisure with 31 and 30 points respectively. I have no words for the second half of this season. I'm doing nothing different. I'm looking at games the same way. Considering the same considerations.

And yet I think my first half of the season I averaged somewhere in the top 5 and the second half I'm currently averaging around the bottom 10.

I hope you enjoy running a more complex game , it might be easier to get the mods to change VOR tag name to 2-1!

How common is a 2-1 result in football matches around the world and would it be a viable betting strategy? Where can I find such information?

Soccerstats has the data. 19% for Championship this season.

 

You can get good odds for a 2-1 in most matches it seems, so if you do it logically rather than blindly 2-1, such as Rotherham v Leicester you wouldnt back a 2-1 home win but say Sheff Weds v Huddersfield you would.

Interesting, seems it might be worth looking into more.

 

@The Voice of Reason might have something to add to this, as he predicts games as 2-1 or 1-2.

 

TFFT I thought I'd seen the end of double figures for the rest of the season. Stopped the rot.

The problem with this is that the big six are not always in the top six. Look at Chelsea in the Premier League and instead Villa are top 6. It's the same here. The Undeniable Truth is currently trespassing on the top 6 while big teams like Knight GT are just just have a rough patch!
