Dear Mackems I know Christmas is a fair way off, but B&M today was full of Christmasy stuff, and although I only bought alcoholic bubbles (Freixenet, Spanish Cava, a steal at £8.50, which I'm drinking as I type), the Christmasy stuff made me think of, yes you've guessed it, Christmas!!! Now I personally don't think that Christmas should even be mentioned until at least the 1st of December. But it's big in our family, and I am in an oppressed minority of 1. With that in mind, I'd like to gift to you all 3 points on Wednesday night. Merry Christmas!!!! All I ask in return is that you take your foot off the gas when you're 3-0 up... And on behalf of all real football fans out there: Big Watford Love to Bradley Lowery's family, and 'well done' to the SWFC fans who have donated £1000s to the Foundation set up in Bradley's name. Steel City Gold Btw Sunderland 1 3 Watford
We haven't won away since the time of Lazarus, Sunderland will play through us as we don't set up in a low block and we are bobbins at the moment. Sunderland 4 - 0 Watford.
Here's what will happen:- We will lose heavily. Those who are still pretending to be optimistic will claim Sunderland are one of the best teams in the league. Adam Leventhal will post a story claiming Ismael's job is under consideration. I will tell everyone "I told you so".
@Steel City Gold I've made this the match thread (if that was the intention) and added a poll. Personally, I think we are going to get slapped. Sunderland are doing very well this season, we cannot stop shipping goals at the moment despite VI coming out and saying the formation change was his fault. Even if we reverted back to the formation that made us more compact and solid, I still cannot see a way to keep Sunderland out. Once they get one the flood gates will open. It won't be a Manchester City obliteration, but it will be a heavy loss. Prove us all wrong Watford? Sunderland 3 Watford 0
Loved that programme growing up. I even got to see how they made it through stop gap animation and the clay model work was outstandingly good. It took them about two weeks to make one five to six minute episode. Some of the backgrounds they used had to be re-done a few times due to heat of the lighting lamps. Drat was awesome. It's a shame you never got to see the "thing upstairs" even in the final episode.
In a ridiculous Watford way, these are the games that we come good in. Been happening since the 70's.
I agree Porteous should be dropped but not for Pollock- he’s not good enough. As someone else said put Sierralta back in at centre half and bring Kayembe in to defensive midfield. This will push Louza, TDB, Kone or Asprilla (whoever starts) further up the pitch
Apathy towards the ownership more like. These players seem a likeable bunch but it only ends one way for Ismael with the poison above him. Hard to give a sh!t anymore.
I agree. My apathy is only because of the owner and the direction he’s taking us. All the Machiavellian antics and there’s zero trust in anything they say. When you have someone who apparently doesn’t give a t0ss for the fans, makes constant bad decisions and doesn’t want to invest anymore, then it’s little wonder it’s got to this stage. What surprises me is there appears to be a lot of fans who still believe the club are actually still going somewhere positive under him.
To be fair, GT signed Charlie Miller and Xavier Gravelaine, both of whom were extremely talented but failed to apply themselves and did not fit GT's work ethic (albeit in quite different ways).
Louza is absolutely useless. Only turns up when the sun is shining, much like 90% of our players when we were in the Premier League. (Watch him score tomorrow in the howling north east wind)
I’ve just had it ground out of me over the past 3/4 seasons. I don’t expect us to be successful, it’s just the way the club has been run and the constant spin and lies we get had just left me numb to it all, I just shrug regardless of the result now, I can barely even bother to even get angry anymore either. I was never that much of a regular, I last had a season ticket in the Boothroyd era, but I’ve never been from Watford or lived anywhere near it (support was handed down from mg grandad etc.) but even after having a season ticket I’d still make at least 10 home games a season when I could get there. Ironically, I now live about 20 down the overground from Watford junction, the first time I’ve lived anywhere near Watford in my life and yet I have no desire to set foot in the ground.
