You say that he should want to test himself in the best league, but if you actually read what he said, he's questioning whether it's the right time/ team for him, which is totally understandable. Well, to standard human beings anyway.

 

I like the way this guy handles himself. Seems to know what he wants and if he comes here, it'll be because he really wants to come here rather than coming simply for a fat payday.

WD reported earlier (I just saw it) that Dowling left Germany and flew back to the UK with the assumption he left to tie up deals for Berghuis, Britos and Immers. Will be interesting to see what news we get in the next couple of days. On top of that, the perotti deal still being alive, shocked me.

 

Not wishing to be pedantic but the website said 'could he be flying back to seal the transfers of...?' Which isn't the same as them making the assumption he flew home to tie up the deals of the trio mentioned.

Sporting director Luke 'two phones' Dowling (second row, bottom right) returns to the UK from Germany today. Could he be going back to tie up deals for Berghuis, Immers and Britos?

To me why else would he leave early unless it is extremely important and most likely involving transfers.

 

He could be coming back for literally anything. Maybe he's booked a weekend away with the wife?

I'm guessing this is a joke but I'll bite. I highly doubt anyone is going on vacation during the most important time of the club. We have 4 weeks left until the season begins, I'm 100% confident no-one is going on holiday, especially the guy that is the most involved in our transfer activity outside of Gino.

That's like the elves going on holiday right before Christmas or the Easter bunny going on holiday right before Easter so no-one will receive their Cadbury's chocolate egg.

He could be coming back for anything buts it's 100% football related.

No it honestly isn't a joke, I'm sure the guy has some time off, he can't work 7 day weeks for 3 months straight. Maybe his kids have finished school and he's having a few days with them before getting back to work? Gino and Scott Duxbury have a part to play in finalising transfers too don't forget. How can you say it's 100% football related? I assume that's a joke? Unless you are actually Luke?

I see what you're saying mate but I seriously doubt that's the case at this moment in time with everything that is going on, with all the deals that we are trying to get over the finish line.

If you worked in a place of business where you play a key role in deals being made and the CEO of your company has lined up a potential investors that if a deal is struck between them it will improve the company, your not going to go on holiday and I would assume that your CEO wouldn't let you either. Simply because you not being there has the potential to make the deal fall through. You will get your holiday but it will be after all the deals have been made. That's why I said 100% football related because I seriously can not see anything beyond that being that case for him to leave Germany.
