I think the point some are trying to make is that 4 premier managers have deemed that Vydra is not good enough which must be based on watching them train. I would guess that in most training sessions they play some sort of match where he's given his chance then. Personally I would have preferred it if Vydra stayed but that doesn't mean I have to slag off some bloke who I know nothing about. I don't think giving someone a chance really qualifies people as being happy clappers.
Steve Clarke was sacked by West Brom. Vydra came back and scored goals in our promotion season. QSF didn't want him because he was sulky. He went to Reading who were awful last season. He came back, sorted out his attitude....that was Deeney who said that. Yet the 'don't criticise the club' lot smear him without context. So with context, these transactions don't make sense to me. So you've GoBE reacting like someone's rubbed Deep Heat on his balls and well Hornet23...enough said, because it doesn't make sense to me. So QSF didn't gave him a chance, however he made a huge mistake in not having cover and didn't 90% of the changing breathe a 'sigh of relief' when he left.
I like this point in the summer window. When we've bought what appear to be plenty of players and then we buy a few more. Can't decide everything on this guy's goal stats, which are hardly terrible. Ighalo had no better than a 1 in 4 strike rate. Players get sub appearances, used out of position etc before they are established. The Pozzos have clearly scouted him over a long period and think he can do something. If that's for us then fine by me.
Same agent as Kabasele and Kums... Something funny going on? Pozzos buying favours for first dibs on future Belgian talent perhaps?
Supporting the club and not wetting yourself over a bad buy is now giving the club a free pass apparently. We should be outraged and bring it up as often as possible because this ******** says so everyone.
I shall try very hard not to spill his espresso,he looks a big lad! Welocme Stefano! I like Italians.
I honestly think this is a good signing. I was huge fan of Vydra but we got fantastic money for him and we now have a bloke who is pretty much a carbon copy of Deeney in terms of style so gives us that option to replace him in games without having to change formations again, which is what a lot of fans are calling out for. He even has some experience of England from his Fulham spell. My only problem is that again it is another foreign squad member and this means the club will have to get rid of unwanted players like Paredes, Nyon, Arlauskis and now I would imagine at least Guedioura (who is deemed a first team player at the moment) or recent signing like Doucoure or Dja Djedje. Getting another under 21 or 'homegrown' player would have made squad choices easier. If we don't work quick, we could end up with unwanted, unhappy players not in the squad, training on their own or with under 23 and destabilising things.
This one is a bit of a low risk no brainer TBH The money is peanuts in the scheme of things, and he offers back up to Deeney - something we haven't had before, and considering how out of shape and off form Deeney has been he needs some competition Lets be honest Vydra didn't offer back up to Deeney they are very different sorts of players - posters using this guy to complain about Vydra are being idiots, your comparing apples and pears Lets give him a chance, now we have Janmaat, Holebas and Amrobat all able to whip decent crosses in an aerial threat could be just the thing He feels a bit like a striker GT would sign
Never seen this fella play but I'll back him if he's at my club. On the Vydra debate I personally would have given him a chance this season and kept him. However, he may be at the stage in his career where he wanted to be playing and not 3rd or 4th choice and I can appreciate that. Especially when he may be watching on thinking he can do better than Troy and Iggy are currently doing.
Well I've never heard of this player let alone seem him play But why the **** did they buy this useless **** the stupid *****? Do those ***** not realise we had a ****ing world beater called ****ing vydra but those ****ing daft ***** sold him for this ****ing **** and we're supposed to be ****ing happy?? *****! But that aside, I can't wait to see him play.
Fair do's. For what it's worth I think this guy could turn out to be a real astute signing. Don't get me wrong, I don't know a great deal about him, but from what i've seen of him in Serie A, he's a real handful for defences, has a nice touch and is a genuine outlet when the ball goes into the box. With runners from midfield like Pereyra and now Capoue seems to have the knack of arriving late in the box, he could give defences a problem in the air and with his back to goal. I don't think he's going to score 20 goals for us, but I reckon he's good for 7-8 goals as a back-up striker, which is significantly more than last season! F**k me, we didn't even have a back-up striker last season. I love Vydra, i'm gutted he's gone, but I think Okaka could have a bit more about him and suits us a bit more perhaps? Time will tell.
Don't think I've ever seen the announcement of a new signing cause so much, erm, heated debate round these parts. Did we just re-sign Marlon or something?
Willing to give this guy a chance but so frustrated about our repeated increase of the foreign numbers at the club. I know you supposedly get better value abroad but I can't help but feel this guys flys in the face of that belief.
Amazed at the number of people that have a strong opinion about a player that have seen very little or nothing of. ******* myself laughing at most of the comments. Get it clear in your thick heads we need 2 players to cover each position and we are not going to get Lionel Messi as our fourth striker. Had Deeney or Igahlo got injured for a long period last year we would have relegated.
We had less Englishmen on the pitch than Arsenal at the weekend and only three in the squad (Sinclain and Watson). We are also the most diverse squad as we were last season.
