Strange that it seems almost everyone is calling for Cleverley to be permanently dropped from the starting line-up after one away game back in the Prem when virtually no one played well. He'd still be very handy at least in home games against the midtable/bottom half teams, perhaps not so much in away games when the opposition tends to dominate with the crowd behind them and his lack of pace gets him caught out.

That said, it can't be denied that the departures of Hughes and Chalobah are a concern leaving the midfield a bit lightweight and not very creative if the new signings take a long time to gel (if at all) and/or aren't consistent. Kucka is the ideal midfield bruiser we've lacked since Behrami, but he is prone to the odd card. I'm not as concerned as others about the defence though because Nagakia looked quite capable at Spurs and better going forward than Cathcart and Rose should keep Masina (who, like Mariappa, is capable of doing a job every now and then, but shouldn't be starting every game) out of the team for a fair number of games. Same goes for WTE and Kabasele, who should interchange so that errors don't creep into their game from being given an overly extended run of games.

I reckon Josh King - an ex-Muffer with fragile confidence - would make an ideal boo boy.

Or possibly Fletcher. Coming on as a sub. Groans all round. Oh no, not Fletcher! Booooooooooo! He's rubbish! Not good enough! Why bring him on? Oh look, here comes bloody Fletcher to save the day, groan moan etc.

Or possibly Sissoko. Hou! Hou! Descendez! t'es nul! HOU! HOUUUU!

Or even possibly Kalamity Ken. Bua! Bua! Gå av! Du är skräp! BUA! BUUUUUUUAAA!

I think for the purist "Boo Boyers", they should always pronounce the name of the Boy Boy incorrectly as well.

Ive heard Etebo been called Eturbo a few times this season.

Masina, Cleverley, Sema, Cathcart, Feltcher, Ngakia, Kabasele, King all could be upgraded by spending 20m on a replacement for each. But hey, we don't have the luxury of spending 150-200m on the team so need such players to be in the 25 and giving their best, even if their best is a 6.5/10. Equally if we take a punt on a 3-8m replacement they might turn out worse.

I find an Oxford Blue almost too strong for a cracker. Pairs lovely with a good malbec though.

I think in general we did a lot of what was needed and more than I expected. I would have still liked another RB and a CB who can pass the ball, but we did a tremendous amount under very challenging financial circumstances. Who knows, maybe we can address those weaknesses in the Winter window.

I hope that the fact that we had to cut our losses in a couple and physically pay some players to leave has meant lessons are finally being learned.
