Whatever happens this season I’m looking forward to being a Watford fan for many more years. I feel the club needed to rebuild, the culture had become soured. Changes were needed. Yes we might get relegated but we should hopefully be on a relatively even keel.

Agree with this, clearly we'd massively ****ed it pre-Covid to the extent where we'd have been in deep deep **** if we'd not got promoted. I don't know if we stay up, I don't know how good a position we'd be to bounce back of we do go down, but at least now we're back to worrying about getting ****ed 9-0 by City and not going bankrupt! Promotion *should* be more about the glory than the money, but, you know, the money is pretty important!

Doesn't look like Quina will be storming it for us any time soon, but we're giving the youngsters still at the club a much better platform to succeed now. I'm really excited to see what the loan army can do this season, and who knows, we might see them play for us regularly next season!

Saw a clip of Deeney today in it confirming he had quite a lot of input and influence during his time at Watford

Will be interesting to see now being free of him how the team respond

I for one am hoping that away from home against the bigger clubs we make more of a fight of it rather than just meekly accept defeat

Think with our pace up front we can get some results away from home

Very pleased with our high-intensity midfield combined with a rapid attack.

If we get it right then the ball will be won in the middle third rather than the last-ditch line of defence. The attack should keep the opposition pinned back and constantly on edge.

I have faith in Sierralta and Troost, but I can't share that same enthusiasm for our full backs. Positionally dreadful, Troost has his work cut out marshalling the line. We should be defending narrow with assistance from Sarr and the LW. Concede crosses, but not goals.

Bachmann is probably allowed one more mistake before Foster is knocking on the door.

We lack a player of real creativity between midfield and attack. Louza might be the man to bring on if brute force isn't working but he needs time.

Unfortunately, Brighton have shown how to nullify our style. However, that was without Kucka, Ozan or Sissoko who are likely to be the main three - our midfield was dominated that day.

Next three games are vital - if Chile manage to block Sierralta from playing then we could be in a right pickle.

It feels like a missed opportunity. Much good, if short term, business. 1 CB and 1 RB away from having a lower midtable team. But unfortunately we blew the small budget on Louza instead.

As others have said the next 3 games are huge. If we don't get 3 points plus it could be a long season and a short stay for Xisco.

The season is now more interesting than ever, on top of the question about how we will manage in the premier league again, is a mystery of how each new signing will settle in, will the defence hold firm and can one of the new guard score enough goals? We kept Sarr in the window which helps.

    The post Deeney era begins.

Important that we don’t hesitate to find a new boo boy. With the departure of Gray, I think it’s viral we as fan base settle quickly upon a scapegoat and focus for our ire.

Early runner for me would be Bachmann, given his lack of top level experience, and the fact he’s got the Twitter mob’s favorite fanboy sat on the bench waiting for a chance to stick his go-pro in the back of a premier league net.

Not for me, but I think Masina might be the prime suspect to fall foul of some unfair stick and become the usual suspects boo boy.

Other possible candidates are Sema; Cleverly; WTE & Kabesele.

Good choices TVOR. I fully support your campaign against Sema, Cleverley and Masina. That said, I think you’ll be disappointed because I think we’ll see very little of them on the field.

Like I said though, good picks, and I’ll be happy to support you in pushing for these guys to become our boo boy.

I did not say that I would be booing anybody and only SUGGESTED that the usual suspects might pick one of those I listed to scapegoat, however it would be churlish of me not to support your right to campaign to find a new BOO BOY, and if Bachmann is YOUR choice, who am I to argue with you.

Good luck with YOUR CAMPAIGN :D

Losing Deeney has meant the heart has been ripped out of the club for me. I am sick of an endless parade of foreigners using us as a staging post and was excited to see Englishmen, like Hughes, Chalobah, Gray, Pollock and Wilmot playing for us. Instead we've got people from countries I haven't even heard of. It's not the Watford I know and love.

What we needed to do was get rid of the dead weights holding us down for so long. We should never have bought Gray in the first place. He was good for Brentford and scored a bag full at Burnley, then he forgot
how to be a footballer when he came to Hertfordshire. I do like where we are going as a club, and I really like the vibe the players get from Xisco, it seems we haven't had this sort of settled side vs the manager
since GT. Without Deeney holding the club by the bollox to his every command, I really hope we can look back in a few years and say "yes, we needed to change, and this was the season it happened."

I would like to give Xisco the full season - but I can already tell if we are sniffing around in the relegation zone the closer we get to Xmas, the closer he will be to getting the boot. Norwich have stuck with gremlin
Farke for a while, gone down and come back up with him as coach. Sure, Norwich are a pants Premier League side but lets be honest, according to Gary Linekar, Crookes, Shearer and co. we do not belong here
either. If we had stayed up by hook or crook when we did get relegated, I am sure we would be in the Championship this season. I think we needed to get relegated to get rid of the egos in the squad, and we built
a solid unit last season. I know we need a RB and yet ANOTHER transfer window has come and gone with no replacement lined up. Cathcart is a poor mans excuse for one especially in the prem, which is why
we will struggle down that side, and will continue to do so, until Gino wakes up and gives us a half decent back line overall.

From what we have signed this window, I am pleased overall. Dennis looks a good player, Sissco needs more time but seemed talented at Spuds last week, King also looks a prospect but needs more game time and
confidence to get back up to his best, Kucka looks an astute signing on all fronts, and despite his overall poor show at Spuds, he does look very good. Louza I feel the jury is still out on, Pollock will be a cup side
player at best. Fletcher could come good given a good amount of games. I think that just leaves Rose, who we know was/could still be a decent defender.

Let's see where the Gino train takes us this season, and hold on to your return tickets.
