Slow down when we're losing? That's real sportsmanship. Or did he mean slow down when we're winning?

Wonderful memories. This is a great gesture from the current owners to honour a true Watford legend. Tomorrow will be a special day for all those who were around supporting the club in the eighties, and remember those fantastic times.

Well you would think we were winning but no, bizarrely we were losing, I was embarrassed to say the least when he left the dug out to tell me to get the ball at a slower pace. I can only assume he thought it could have become a cricket score.

Well I'm certainly withdrawing my support for the renaming. I think that's absolutely disgusting. I've always considered him a Watford legend but now I'm not too sure. Tainted IMHO.

Let's hope the Cardiff fans are respectful but doubt they will be!

Be interesting to see what he thinks of our current playing style.

    3 points for GT tomorrow!

"F*nny football", was the phrase he used to use.

And for those of us not old enough to have experienced those days but had a taste with the 1997 to 2000 run instead.

In today's interview, he says: 'Nowadays you get two centre-backs in their own half, 10 yards apart and passing it to each other with no one pressing them. If people want that kind of football great, I don't.'

He's gonna love tomorrow's game then!

He'll be okay, as the two centre halves are more likely be passing to the opposition.

Graham Taylor is one of the nicest blokes you will ever get the pleasure of meeting ... If you are lucky enough to have spent some time talking to him you will know what I mean ... Thanks GT ... You gave me some of the best ever times ever watching football live ....

Whilst it is long overdue that G.T. Has a stand named after him for his fantastic achievements in putting W.F.C. Well and truly on the map, let not forget the person who equally made it happen by giving Graham huge amounts of money and endless support Sir Elton John, let's hope that in the not too distant future another stand is renamed so that the two most unlikely " brothers " can be forever remembered together in true fashion.

A thoroughly deserved honour. A genuinely nice bloke who always had time for us fans. I was lucky enough to see him first time round but so chuffed he came back to show that he still had the Midas touch. Very honoured to have my seat in a stand named after the biggest and greatest legend of them all. Thanks for everything GT

I'd like Mayor Dotty to put up a statue to him (and SEJ) on the plinth on the "Croxley" roundabout at the end of Whippendell Road.

    It's about time.

"I was given time. When we got promoted and ended up 18th in that first season [in the Second Division in 1980] I wasn’t sacked and I was given time. We finished 18th, then ninth and then we were promoted after finishing second. That wouldn’t happen today. I would have been sacked."

This forum would have gone into melt down by Xmas of first season in Division 2 had it existed then. Meldrew would have been like a pig in **** though.

Blimey I though I had influence in some circles but this is the first time WFC have acted so quickly on any suggestion I have made!

Something like this as you come up to the stadium on Occupation Road by the away fans entrance would be magical.

The bow and kisses in front of the Rookery from GT yesterday said it all. What a legend he is. Thank you GT.

Must say I was disappointed that a few more old players didn't show up - does John Barnes even remember us?

There was a message on the screen from him. I'm guessing he has tv/radio commitments. That or he just had a ticket for the Liverpool game.

Had a major stroke of luck and bumped into him on the way out last night. He happily posed with us and a few others for pics and a little natter. The word gentleman was invented for him, a great football man and 100% top top bloke. Also had a chat with Rita and his daughters, lovely family.
Second time I've had the pleasure to meet him and hopes its not the last

More to the point when did Neil Price become a legend........ still blame him for poncing around and not cutting out the cross that led to Andy Gray's goal in the cup final

The Elton John's Taylor Made Army chant brought back happy memories.... still our best chant ever

Was lucky enough to bump into the great man saturday, met him numerous times and always been a top top bloke. Has there any one man that has done so much for one club and an area ? 2 management spells, both very very successful, when he did not want to sign players on big wages he was concerned about the club finance footing then his own record and giving himself a better chance of keeping the club up. He was director of football and even stepped in as chairman until, that crook had sold the club. He did not need the publicity and don't think he got paid, he just wanted his "watford" to be safe, hassle he really coukd do without, he turn up at the famous forum when the owner could not be bothered. He even turns up every year to give out the Abbot s Langley tough ten medals, sure he has better things to do on his Sunday's.
What a great man, as far as I am concerned we should name the ground after him, the instu shopping centre, the new tube station, the new watford junction station, the m25 exit for watford, the m1 exits for watford and the training ground, we were lucky to have not just a great football man but a great decent man, should get him knighted.

Thanks for the memories Mr taylor
