I'm struggling to see what's wrong with a single 22 year old shagging a lot of birds Are southamptoners all weird of something?
So we spent half of last season trying to rid the club of bad attitudes, then attempt to sign a player kicked out of his last English club for possessing one. You couldn't make it up.
Elf 'n safety innit? Bloody eurocrats. Down with the BBC. Hurrah for the Black Shirts... woah, sorry, came over all Daily Mail there for a minute.
Does he have a bad attitude though? He says he left for personal reasons, Southampton say it was work ethic which is odd because I found this quote from him when he joined Inter Milan a year earlier... "Without hard work you don’t achieve anything, that’s why it’s important to work every day and improve along with the coach and the club that has shown so much faith in me" Plus all I've seen when I've read about him is how he's a dynamic, hardworking midfielder who presses the opposition. Now maybe he did have a problem with teammates or Koeman, who has fallen out with numerous people in football, but that's just what happens sometimes. His face didn't fit, much like McGugan's doesn't here but they love him at Wednesday and I'm sure he'll be a very good player for them next season. I'm sure there's bad things you can find out about him but he's still a young guy and a talented footballer by the sound of it, I don't think the club would touch him with a barge pole if his attitude was as bad as people are making out.
Let's hope you are right. We need everybody pulling together in the same direction. On the plus side, just like Capoue, he should have something to prove after a failed stint in the PL and of course we do play Saints game week 3!
probably be sent off like John Eustace who had so much to prove against Stoke, back in the days of Aidy, when stoke let him go and replaced him with Whelan !
I have the same concerns as Malteser. If he does come here he'll prove whether he still wants to succeed in football. Some players that have a promising start to their careers and get sold on only to sit around in the reserves (or on the bench) find the desire to want to prove themselves. King was the same before he came to us. Signing him will be a risk, but maybe it will work in our favour.
I guess what we have to remember is that this is kind of the Pozzos wheelhouse, isn't it. Alongside unearthing various South American gems, mostly from the Colo Colo squad they take formerly promising youngsters who have lost their way somewhat, recognising the underlying talent, and coach them to improvement and consistency. Benatia, for instance, was not a Chilean youngster when he entered the Pozzo stable, nor Brahimi, but they were in rather similar positions to the one Taider finds himself in now. This could turn out in the end to be an archetypal Pozzo move, and one that demonstrates how they intend to continue their operations with us in the Prem. This all depends on the player as well, obviously, but I don't think there's much evidence that we can actually draw a conclusion that he would be a guaranteed risk from.
Feeling increasingly good about this one. If Pozzo and Giraldi honestly thought that his attitude is questionable and that he'd be a bad influence on the rest of the squad, do we really think they'd still try to sign him? I don't think so. He sounds like a typical Pozzo signing. Add the fact that he's got his best years ahead of him and will clearly feel like he's got something to prove, then I think this could be an inspired signing.
If youve got the time this video is good. Its 8 mins if highlights from just one game. Taider starts off slowly but looks pretty decent before long. Looks very similar style to Abdi ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXRDMwc7rrE
And a lovely early cameo from fellow perennial unlikely transfer target Sime Vrsaljko! You've raised an interesting point, for me at least; are we considering him as the potential competition/back up for Abdi in the CAM role? I'd assumed he would compete for one of the two or 3 central mid spaces, but presumably this evidence would suggest the Pozzos/Quique might have a different plan for him?
It might have been Taider plus cash for Widmer... who knows which way round when google translate is involved...
really on the strength of that vid or have you seen him play ? Not having a go YK I trust your judgement , but on the strength of that vid he is no better than Mcgugan
Stambouli is probably a better player, but I actually don't think he'd compliment Capoue well. Taider is/was a massive prospect and looked absolutely class at Bologna. I just feel he'd give us more balance in our midfield, but I'd e delighted with both.
Can I just point out that in that vid, Taider is running the show in Serie A, against Serie A opposition; McGugan has never even played in the top tier/a top league, so it's a little generous to say that because there are some similarities between one example of what each of them has done on a pitch, Taider is no better. Personally, I also don't recall McGugan ever contributing that much to a single match, though I stand ready to be corrected...
I wouldnt exactly call that vid running the show ! still if he turns up in yellow we support him , at risk of sounding boring would prefer his compatriot Guedioura.
Footalgerian posted this on Twitter Things should accelerate in the next few hours for the international Algerian approaching increasingly Watford. According to the Italian press says Algerian international , Saphir Taider , will be transferred to the newly promoted Premier League Watford although it has started the preparation with Inter Milan. The Inter coach Roberto Mancini wants degrease midfielder and for that he is forced to release the Algerian player who does not fit into his plans for this season. - See more at : http://www.footalgerien.com/mercato...che-de-watford/#sthash.hNiPCHJN.ie5GDbH8.dpuf
I'd rather Udinese just sent us Widmer and Allan, and we just gave them the rest of our Premiership money to spend :drinking:
