Couldn’t see Pozzo’s forking out £10m for Snodgrass at 29 but if we did we’d suddenly have a few options for set piece takers! The good thing about a player like Snodgrass is even if totally ineffective in a match he’s always a threat with freekicks etc. so those extra goals could be worth it alone but I just can’t see us matching Burnleys bid. Wonder if Hull’s new manager has had a say in any of this or if he’ll get the funds to bring his own players in.. either way it does strike of Hull raising the white flag.
He always reminds me of a Toby Jug,the way his head sits. I'm not sure if that helps or hinders his performance.
He's bang average but people seem to think he's HG so they are getting all confused. This is what happens when you lose WD Sport_.
If you remove his set piece ability he's worse than average at Prem level, however that part of his game is exceptionally good. There's value in someone that scores a goal or two from free kicks even if he does sod all else for 90 minutes.
If all we want is someone to take set pieces then Danny Tőzsér is available cheap and still only 31. Just as good with the dead ball as Snotarse, if not better to my mind. Wildly over-priced signing at £10 million.
He is decent enough. Not amazing but having a good season in a poor team. I would want someone a bit quicker for 10 Mill though.
If he scores 10+ goals a season for Burnley or whoever ends up getting him for the next couple of years though it's decent value in today's market, even if he's schite otherwise.
I can't see that though. We know him of course from the championship years and we've seen him turning out plenty of times (but not particularly standing out) for run-of-the-mill outfits like Norwich, Hull and dirty Leeds over the years. He's in a purple patch of form at the moment, yes, but I doubt that's going to last somehow. I'm rather surprised that Dyche has splashed that much on him.
Was always gonna happen, they were just waiting for the mugs at Burnley and Boro to agree the price for them
Awful signing for Spam if so. I bet their fans are overjoyed at swapping Payet for Snodgrass and Hogan.
I am in total agreement with you Hairy, as I have said before, as both you and I have raised his name more than once before!
Ha and thanks. A bit more complicated than that which I've explained on another thread. But it's good to be back and getting all these nice messages!
Absolutely agree too. But he's not currently available is he? - which makes it hypothetical. We do need an Icelander in the squad to add to our collection though ...
All players are available if the bid is big enough and they want to move, have enquires been made and rebuffed? or has he recently signed a new contract? If not then there is a slightly actual chance of buying him.
That would just make us start to look desperate. If they were any good they would have set the premiership alight, and they haven't. We want players that will take the team forward.
