I swear, I trawl the transfer rumours on here for like 3 straight weeks and it's dead air. Finally one day I come home from work and we've gone through the entire process of signing some Brazilian wonderkid and I've missed all the excitement.

 

The amount of pages dedicated to players who are merely hinted at in various news outlets, and we sign someone who just over 12 hours ago no one had even been aware of.

I guess a few things are going on behind the scenes and we need to be patient.

 

Absolutely right - that is what the transfer window is all about.

No idea if he's any good, but we spent £11m on a new striker! Woo!!

I shall, however, be calling him Richard / Alison as I cannot easily pronounce his name.

I never even bother judging players by their footballing abilities in the YouTube clips anymore. I find it's easier to make a judgment by what techno track they are using instead. It's usually more accurate given most of them are ****.

The YouTube highlights give us an idea on what sort of player he is, so I find them quite useful when I had previously never seen the bloke.

How good he would be against European defenders compared with his current opponents, or how he'd fit in with our style of play, is obviously not known. But it does seem that he is mobile, fast, can shoot, can dribble with the ball and is a generally positive player, which is what we need.

...and which is the opposite of what many of our forward players are like.

Having said that, the accompanying electronic "music" was even worse than we normally get in these vids.

 

Now we're in our third season in the PL we've simply shifted from spending £5-6m on a punt/potential/rough diamond gone bad, to spending £11-£12m on this type of player instead. It's an exciting signing for sure and he's got bags of potential but god knows how he'll turn out.

 

That amrabat guy looks amazing. Couldn't we have got him instead or maybe even the 2 to play alongside each other ?

 

I guess, save for goals for/ against, it shows stats are as dodgy as You Tube Vids. Can't beat experience (Gino/ Marco not mine) and proper use of the Mark 1 eyeball.

Good article but his stats don't add up to what tramsfermarkt states.

He's scored 7 goals so far this season ( their season starts in May) from 18 games .

He scored 3 goals in 10 for the U20s.

He picked up 3 goals from 22 games the season before

 

Yeah it was not the greatest video , nut sure why everyone is so excited .

The quality of the goalkeeping and defending in those videos was barely Championship level .

It ll be a huge step up for him against quality defences .

 

I think you only have to listen to very informed journo's and Fluminese supporters who rate him as the best player in Brazil currently to realise this is a cracking deal. Not to mention the fact Ajax are very salty over the whole scenario of him joining us and Chelsea/Man Utd have expressed an interest in signing him too.

Usually You Tube videos are the opposite and make a player look like Maradonna and in reality they're as sh*t as Clint Easton!

 

When I watched the video he reminded me a bit of Amrabat, running down the wing, past a couple of players, dummy another and then fall over / run into the opposition / psss to the oppositions goalie

Piss taking aside its getting exciting feels like we are signing a whole new team at the moment

I'm just excited that we seem to have signed a genuinely two footed player. And as a bonus someone with a good work ethic.
