I think once you get to 24/25 you are considered a bit more senior in football terms. Edwards seems to like young players who he can influence. That profile is usually 23 or under with a lack of first team football.

 

You have to apply the Watford premium to that though, we regularly give long contracts to 30+ year olds, or extension to 32/33 year olds. 24/25 is the equivalent of 20/21 to a normal club.

Like most fans, l thought that this was a free transfer. It had been touted as a free signing.
Knowing Watford and our Agents, we offered a fee when we could have got him for nothing.
He was on his way out at Barcelona and no other club wanted him.
He does look like he can stick the boot in, so that is a change from our current lightweight strikers. I just hope that he doesn't dive and roll around a the slightest touch like Issac Success.
He may do well in the Championship. He certainly looks a much better option than Fletcher, who was a total flop in America.

I doubt we offered them a fee if he was available for free, more likely we tried to create the impression he was free because we constantly try to spin everything to look better than it is.

I'm expecting that he will Manaj to fit in quite well at CSKA Sofia as it's not far from Albania.

 

I'm sorry, but I can't get over the fact that we've not only paid a fee for him, but also agreed to a sell-on percentage of (reportedly) at least 25%!

It's not even like he's a Barcelona youth they're letting go - he's a 25-year-old who signed for them a couple of years ago, and literally never featured for their senior side. He only ever played one not-entirely-full season for their reserve side! What kind of deal is this?! Seriously? We appear to have just bent over and begged them to come at us.

I hope to god that sell-on is only activated when we start to make a profit on the sale, otherwise we won't even make our money back, and we'll find ourselves in the perverse position of having to take a further financial hit to benefit historic super-club and prime Super League advocate Barcelona.
