Man Utd to sign him on deadline day after he scores a hat-trick against them next weekend.

Well United scouted Hauge the whole year before failing to pull the trigger before AC Milan, the thread ended in Man U tears as always. Same as with Haaland that they scouted for 2 years in the Eliteserien (or know as the worlds worst league by some people here). Look it up at Red Cafe.

Your taste is both inexplicable and inconsistent - he's clearly a specimen, and I can't quite work out what element of him would be effeminate, especially not by your standards when you downstairs saluted on the daily the mascara-clad Quique.

Quique was effortlessly sexual. This chap clearly spends A LOT of time on his appearance.

And that is not manly or attractive in my book. And I reckon the forum females will back me up.

Nah, he won't want to go to Croydon, he'll want a London club like Watford.

Utd didn't and don't need Hauge - they have both Rashford and Martial for left-wingers/left-sided forwards.

They actually tried to sign Haaland though both after he left Molde and RB Salzburg. When leaving Molde he thought it was too soon for a club that size and wanted playing time. When leaving RB Salzburg they wanted a release clause put in any deal at whatever club he went to next and Utd refused.

His release clause at Dortmund kicks in summer 2022 though. I reckon he'll go to either City or Utd. If Utd still have Ole and are still qualifying for the Champion's League then I reckon they'll finally get him then.

Apologies. I maintain he’s a hunk. I never said he was my type however.

I reckon Haaland will need to ditch Mino Raiola before United think about taking him again.

Given his outbursts over Pogba, I just can’t see them opening themselves up to dealing with him again out of principle.

They also said that about Haaland, that they did not need him. Praising Greenwood as the next Ballon D'or. Hauge is a Chelsea supporter anyway, so if he becomes good enough and wants to join a English club, he would prob choose them if he could pick himself.

Haaland will most likely pick Real Madrid if not City. Haaland likes Solskjær but it will not decide his next club, Man U is also at war with Mino Raiola.

Anyways I hope Zinckernagel gets 20 minutes or so against United, the guy is in top form, no reason to not let him play.

New Year's Day and Lower Rous is picking an argument with a Norwegian bloke who only came on the forum to share some insight on Zinckernagel. Great stuff!

Having a discussion isn't the same thing as "picking an argument".

I thought we were on a football forum to generally discuss football, or?!

I mean, you may have meant it that way or you may well have not, but in fairness your first sentence does come across to the neutral eye as quite patronising and overly direct, shall we say; particularly for a debatable matter of some opinion that directly relates to a player from his team that he has watched for several years and is fairly likely to know more about.

Mate if you've never tentpolled your undies while watching one of our players in glorious action then I feel sorry for you.

And I'd suspect you were in denial and probably gay tbh (not that there's anything wrong with that).

The crux of the opinion is more related to Man Utd's squad than it is on Hauge. Hauge is a left-sided forward and Utd already have two of their best players there in Rashford and Martial.

On an additional note, If you look through the transfer suggestions thread you'll notice that I'd also been following Hauge's transfer saga for a while as well, so was aware who was following him and was considering how likely it would be he would move to certain clubs. I knew Utd were scouting him, but I was not surprised that they didn't end up moving for him.

Don't worry. It is just a friendly argument mate. From seeing all of Hauges games in the Eliteserien and Obosligaen (except those he had at loan for Aalesund), it's difficult to tell what Hauge really is. He is talented for sure, but just like Zinckernagel he is a constant drifter from positions. At Glimt he was constantly shifting from LW, CM, RW, and striker. The CM Saltnes would often take his place as LW moving in as a extra striker while the LB would go up to LW and Hauge does the CM/playmaker role the last 20 minutes. And he is an excellent playmaker for his age.

This thread is about Zinckernagel, but there is a point to be made. Glimt is a team of drifters, Milan is also, but is Watford? That can be crucial for Zinckernagels success.

Sure, but both Rashford and Martial are fundamentally considered strikers who ideally want to play through the middle, and each have featured centrally in very nearly equal measure with on the left. Meanwhile, Utd were driven to buying Daniel James just last year, and he has himself featured (when he has done) equally on both left and right. It's perfectly plausible that they might well have been scouting Hauge, and Martial and Rashford's collective presence is nowhere near enough to discount any potential 'need' for left-sided recruitment for a team in Utd's position.

That's what I was hoping your response would be, seeming as we have played wingers as forwards all season or Gray and Deeney and our other great hope Perica shown in the last game that he couldn't finish his dinner either, how do you reckon he could do up front in a two?

True good option to have alongside King Ken and JP as well, we desperately need a striker that has movement and can attack a ball otherwise we have all this creativity on the wing and are crossing the ball to the likes of Gray and Deeney to do air kicks.

Glimpt sound like the Ajax of the 1970s. In which case, we should abandon Watford and hop up to Bodo every other week.

You either know much more than I think, or you just made a brilliant comparison. Ajax from that era is one of the cornerstones of how Glimt want to play football. I even belive it is written somewhere in the clubs officical statements on who we are and who we want to be. As you know, words is nothing without action, and we are not even close to flawlessly living up to those words. There has still never been a better example so far than this season.

Trapped in the Norwegian Eliteserien and a small town of 50 000 in the artic there are clear limits for how far we can reach, but I hope we can provide world class talents and inspire more teams to play entertaining football at all levels.

This message made me cringe so hard I had to make an account to reply. Well done.

I am a Norwegian who follows English football very close and I do travel overseas 3-4 times a season to go to different stadiums in UK, as well as I follow my own ****** Norwegian team (Aalesund, not Bodø/Glimt) and I've done part time analysis on the Norwegian league professionally for a world leading sports company for 8 years.

    Anywaaay...

Zinckernagel did indeed perform better than Hauge in the 2020 season, and I would say he is, as per today, a better player. The obvious reason why AC Milan went for Hauge isntead of Zinckernagel, is the simple fact that Hauge is young and got a lot of potential. He is a player AC Milan can develop and potentially earn a ridiculous good amount of money on given he reaches his potential. If you do a quick google search on e.g. "Hauge La Gazetta dello sport" and google translate the news articles, you can see the famous Italian newspaper is basically laughing at the price AC Milan paid for Hauge.(5m euros)

I've seen a couple of people in here estimating what level Bodø/Glimt, or even the Norwegian league in general, is compared to the Championship. The league on average is below Championship level, I'd say about League One, however, the season Bodø/Glimt have delievered is without a doubt the best performance by a team in the history of the league. It's been a walk in the park for them, and they showed when playing against AC Milan they've got something special going on. The match was very even, and they could've even beaten and knocked AC Milan out, but they (Saltnes) missed a huge chance in the final minute of added-time to drag it into extra time.

If Zinckernagel performs just even close to what he did in 2020 for Glimt, you've got a cracking player on your hands.

    Oh, and as a last note;
Haaland played decent in the Norwegian league, and people were sceptical he wouldn't do it in a bigger league. :)
