Certainly sounds as if he's versatile. If we can keep Sarr (our best asset) and we have some skilful RB's look like to get forward, it good be exciting if his "level" is sufficiently high for this League. Based on Hauge doing so well, it looks like your man should be able to do well, I think. Thanks for the info, appreciated.

If I could name a bad thing about him: He has been horrible at direct free kicks this year, but very eager to steal all of them from his mates even if we all know he is going to fail miserably. Either give him a good teacher or keep him away from the ball in those situations at all cost!

If he really is as you say, he’ll be a massive improvement on our current free kick takers.

Well. He goes for placement no matter the distance or angle, and the placement is good, it's just that the shot power is so slow that the keeper always gets there. At crossing and corners he is solid.

Thanks KingKoki - feel a bit bad you’re not getting a fee for him! How come he was allowed to run his contract down?

He’s a massive addition if he can just get them over the wall.

You will love our strikers. One can't control a football, the other one Zinckernagel will need to wait 15/20 seconds for him to jog into the penalty area.

    Not true.
He will just have to learn that every time he gets to the touch line he has to pull the ball back 30 yards. Simples.

Better still just go for goal himself, which he looks very capable of doing

Well, as the season started in june instead of april (Covid-19), and Hauge also said he was leaving as early as january (our two top players from 2019 was also sold, both RW/LW options), we could not afford losing all the winger options at the same time. We tried to give Zinckernagel a new contract, but players at Glimt still have some of the lowest wages in all of the Eliteserien. I think Zinckernagel was our best paid player for only 80-90 000£ per year, so you do the math, player close to his prime, 10 times his last wage + good sign on fee. Still Zinckernagel loves Glimt, has Norwegian girlfriend I think, and told us he would buy a cabin in the Bodø-area to come visit the city. While he was here he even got a local restaurant to serve a danish themed lunch just for him.

Well, I'm glad his danish roommate Junker is still under a two year contract. His agent told us Crystal Palace and West Brom wanted him, but there is no chance at this point before possible CL next season and our other option Boniface injured for all of 2021. That is one of my concerns for Zinckernagel, what is he witout Junkers movements, Junker is close to a Thomas M*ller type of player on the Eliteserien-level.

I also thought that, but then which 1 striker would he play with? Deeney has said himself he needs to play alongside a player who more plays beyond him/off the shoulder of defenders - KingKot above suggests he could do that but from Zinc's interview it doesn't suggest we intend to use him that way. Meanwhile, if we used him as a 10 behind Deeney it would mean we'd have lots of decent creative players trying to cross or play through-balls to one crap and immobile striker.

Stylistically I'd guess him playing behind Gray would make more sense given his movement. and I reckon it's what Vlad intended to do, but then we're still left with having to put up with Gray.

Do you think he could play as a striker for a whole season, alongside a big lump of a Centre Forward who can't move, but only stands still trying to win flick-on headers or playing through-balls?

Also, could you kindly tell your ignorant fellow Bodo fans on your forum that Watford are not a "bakgårdsklubber" (backyard club)?!... We've just spent 5 years in the PL and aim to get back there very soon, and our star player cost £30mil.

Well Zinc as a 10 might not be an immediate success, even though he goes trough the middle allot also.

In Glimt he was used to 70% possesion, even against Milan we did that. Allot of my fellow Norwegians think he will fall through because they say Watford has much worse players than Glimt atm., im not that deluded lol, but for sure he will have different kind of players around him, and allot more "no ********" defenders for sure. At first we thought he was bound for Udinese when he went to Watford, so we were suprised to say the least. PL might also suit him better than the Championship.

I'm really looking forward to watch your team play the next games. Season is over here, so that is a excellent reason to annoy my wife with even more football she does not understand why I bother to watch. "Even I can see that team is crap". We will see how she responds to Watford :)

Excellent, a good start to the year. A rare occurrence - a player we’re linked with who sounds good and actually signs!

Great signing. More of the same please. Also has the right attitude. Not a troublemaker. Peter Lovenkrands mould.

Mute the sound. Him on the left Sarr on the right should bring the same balance as when we had Gerard. Just need the strikers to step up to the plate.

Haha, get they will see all Championship teams as a backyard club right now. Just as much as you see our league as a farmers league (that is still true though). Glimt fans have never been as hyped about their own team right now in our whole 104-year history. People from the north of Norway has not been fairly treated by the south (both the goverment and the people) for a long long time in history. Like someone mentioned earlier that Glimt and other nortern teams could not play in the national league until 1972. People in Oslo used to refuse people from the north to rent a flat or a house, and my great-ant even told me farmers constantly refused her and her friend water while biking through the south many years ago. So this is our long planned revenge on them!

I think he can adapt to that role, but I would avoid it if you could. This season he had a relatively fast striker with excellent positioning around him. As our coach says Junker is maybe the smartest footballer in the league. So then you have Zinckernagel trying to hold up the ball before your slower striker arrives. How fast is your other attacking midfielders? In Glimt we have this unique play similar to Atalanta that we call "Kamikaze attack" where all wingers and attacking midfielders does this massive combined run in to the oppostions defence creating panic, then moving our DM and other defenders in strategic positions to win the ball with ease every time the other team breaks our play. If you can create something similar before your slow striker arrives it would be perfect for Zinckernagel. The slow striker could arrive in the next wave when the opposition is unable to place a man on him being to busy with the other attackers.

In his interview he mentioned there were four Danish players at Brentford and that he played with some of them from their academy. As a free transfer, I'm really surprised that Brentford weren't apparently interested. I thought he'd be a perfect fit for them.

He also mentioned a mental coach. I hope he brings him over with him and shares him with our others strikers, because they certainly need some mental coaching for sure.

I don't see him as a replacement for Sarr, although of course he could be, but more a replacement for Geri. He's even taken his number 7 shirt.

Jensen and Marcondes were both at Nordsjælland as teens, which was the first pro club Zinckernagel was at. Marcondes and Zinckernagel would have been there at the same time, though maybe not in the same age group. Perhaps we could offer better wages than Brentford? Also, they don't have a pressing need for a starter in his position with Canos, Mbeumo and DaSilva.

Ok, I know this is probably like comparing England to Scotland but King Ken’s record in Sweden before we bought him was pathetic in comparison to this guy, and he’s shown himself as more than capable in Serie A and the championship. This guy looks a significantly more exciting prospect.
