How did Genoa get this guy for 300k last summer? Did they get an incredible bargain or are they absolutely mugging us off now?
http://genova.repubblica.it/sport/2...tford_per_dieci_milioni-117137088/?refresh_ce I think it says at the end that Perotti has 3 years left on his contract at 700,000€ per season net. You would need to double that to get the gross figure, so roughly £1m a year, or £20k a week. I'm sure we could happily double his money.
Injuries really ruined his time at Sevilla. Very highly rated but by the time his injuries were behind him,the club had moved on from him a bit. Probably approaching the end of his contract as well so thought they'd make something out of him.
http://www1.skysports.com/football/...lub-record-bid-for-genoa-winger-diego-perotti Please, get that old record out the door please!
Cameron_AFCB @AFCBCam1999 26m26 minutes ago So 7 million pounds would get you Perotti (4 goals, 6 assists) or Maxi Gradel (17 goals 3 assists) I know who I'd have #afcb #watfordfc Lol. Followed on the #AFCB by... mattjwlowe @mattjwlowe Just contemplated us playing the typical prem 4231 next season. Wilson, Ritchie, Atsu ... Gradel? Not many better out of the top 7 #afcb I thought some of our fans were delusional.
Stop blasting our transfer news all over the world Sky! We're trying to do this deal in secret so no-one hijacks our move for him! You're messing everything up! It's hard enough being little old watford as it is, let alone having competition from other clubs. Focus on Bournemouth, their trying to sign Caulker from QPR.
He'd be our second signing of the summer, according to Sky Sports. Apparently Arlauskis hasn't joined, then...
What's even funnier is that they actually haven't even made a £7mil bid. Supposedly St Etienne want £7mil but no-one has bid that yet, these guys are talking about a link the Mirror as though it's gospel. Apparently they rejected their first bid of £4mil and that was it. Would I like Gradel at watford yes, but someone who has made the Serie A team of the year and is beginning to earn call ups to the Argentina squad is definitely something that is very impressive, especially when you see the talent that he has been picked over. So honestly speaking I would rather Perotti because it's not just about goals and assists, but about key passes and opportunities created and believe I read the other day that Perotti had the highest stats in both and did it in a much tougher league up against better quality players all season.
Bournemouth will end up signing him for around 6-7 million, as he is known in this country it will be declared a fantastic signing by Sky Sports and BBC. However Watford will sign some bloke from Italy and their crazy owners have massively overpaid as they're the new QPR.
Admittedly I haven't watched Gradel since he was at Leeds (I doubt many afcb fans either) and he was Anya's level. Decent and would give a really good performance 1/10 times but not amazing.
Gradel scored seventeen goals in Ligue 1 last season. He'd be a fantastic signing for Bournemouth, or us for that matter. I'm chuffed about the possible Perotti deal, though.
Who care about Bournemouth and their transfer targets. They are diving cheats and I dont wont to read about them on our forum,..
Fun fact: Perotti was the 7th most creative (judged on key passes, that's a pass that leads to a shot) player in Serie A last season. He was the 4th best crosser of the ball (2 of those above him were corner takers which counts as well). He had the 3rd most successful amount of dribbles (Felipe Anderson who had 8 more successful dribbles is being linked to £35m moves to Utd/PSG). I'm happy about this. **** Bournemouth and their targets. Our scouts know what's up, and it's Perotti.
Yeah but did he score 17 goals in Ligue 1? I think not. Gradel is a proven PL striker and scored 52 goals in one season when at Leeds I herd
Who gives a fxck about Bournemouth? In 2 years time Howe will go to a big club and they ll likely get relegated the year after . In the meantime we ll be challenging for Europa League spots. Watfords rise is a long term upward trend based on experienced, and ambitious but sensible long term ownership. This coincides with the owners capacity and know how in maximising the benefits gained in the transfer market stemming from the huge future revenues in the EPL. Bournemouths rise is short term, based on being managed by an exceptional, up and coming manager that will leave in due time. Their rise bears many resemblances to Watford under GT, and how long did we last in the top division after he left ?
Exactly this. We can't avoid being part of a scramble if there's a bit of a bidding war on now for certain players. But we don't want to show our hand now regarding any others we might have an interest in on and after 1 July. But the Pozzos and Luke Dowling will already be monitoring that potential situation. In addition, it would reduce the effectiveness of the best and most comprehensive worldwide scouting network if we showed our hand before we have to. Expect a couple of guys at least that aren't on the radar yet at all, or we've never even heard of, to be incoming from S.Am. or even Africa once the transfer window opens properly again (quotas allowing of course).
What happens on the 1st July then? The transfer windows is already open now. Players in contract with another club will be equally in contract on 30th June and 2nd July so it can't be that. So what is it? If it's all about tactical hiding of our plans fine but why announce on 1st July exactly?
Could it be the official day Florrie takes over as coach, as I think Joka is technically still our head coach until 30/6/15?
Well he's here now making comment about joining the club and about the fixture list. And logically it's the club that signs the players, not the head coach, so what difference does it make? Sorry TVOR but I can't see it being that.
Just a suggestion UEA, I guess we will just have to wait and see what, if anything significant happens on 1/7/15
I'm positive that if we have signed a player and all paperwork is in order that we would know. What is the point of waiting? Currently you have U21 competition and Copa America which there must be scouting reps at for us. So patience people.
They have never had the level of income that the Premier League supplies. I have every confidence that they will spend it wisely
Pozzos only announce signings if all the paperwork signed and transfer ratified by the authorities and that can't happen until 1st July. Otherwise it will be the case of random players appearing at the training camp exposure on social media.
