    This is fun:

Dear Watford FC fans, I want to express my gratitude to all the cogs, who have supported me and the club with passion and dedication. I also want to acknowledge that there may be bedwetters who have a different opinion, and I respect their right to express it.

As you may know, I have a great relationship with Mogi Bayat, and we both share a love for this club. It is important to send Mogi money regularly to help us maintain the stability of the club and achieve our goals.

I understand that there may be debates about players' abilities, but I firmly believe that Bayo is a valuable asset to the team, and I am excited about his potential.

I want to apologize for any concerns about the club's debt, but I want to assure you that I have a good relationship with Macquarie Bank, and we are working together to address this issue. I ask for your continued support and trust as we navigate these challenges together.

Thank you for your support and loyalty to Watford FC.

    Best regards, Gino Pozzo"

Harry The Hornet has enough, a ChatGPT original story.

Harry the Hornet, previously known for his playful antics and positive attitude, begins to feel underappreciated by the Watford FC fans. He starts to resent the players for not acknowledging him enough during matches, and begins to act out in increasingly aggressive ways. For example, he might start interfering with the game by distracting opposing players or confronting referees.

As Harry's behavior becomes more erratic and divisive, some fans begin to turn against him. They see him as a distraction and a hindrance to the team's success. However, others are still loyal to Harry and see him as a misunderstood hero who is simply standing up for himself.

At a critical moment in a key game, Harry takes things too far. He attacks an opposing player and causes a major injury, leading to a red card and his expulsion from the game. The fans who had previously supported Harry are now horrified by his actions, and he becomes a pariah in the football community.

I know you’re a passionate fan of WFC, so I’m intrigued to know why you “don't really go to games anymore”. (Don’t feel pressured to answer if you don’t want to.)

New chant for the DNSYE ladz:

Verse 1: I'm the owner of the Hornets, Gino Pozzo's my name I came from Italy to bring Watford fame I speak Gino, that's my language of choice Sometimes in Italian, it's the sound of my voice

Chorus: Speak Gino, speak It's the language of the fans that we seek From Vicarage Road to Wembley We'll be cheering on our team, plenty

Verse 2: I run the club with my family by my side We'll do whatever it takes, we won't hide We've got a great team, they're full of skill And when we win, it gives us a thrill

Chorus: Speak Gino, speak It's the language of the fans that we seek From Vicarage Road to Wembley We'll be cheering on our team, plenty

Verse 3: Sometimes the road is tough, we might fall But we'll get back up, we'll stand tall We're the cogs that keep the machine running And if you don't like it, then you're bumming

Chorus: Speak Gino, speak It's the language of the fans that we seek From Vicarage Road to Wembley We'll be cheering on our team, plenty

Outro: So when you're at the game, and you hear the sound Of speak Gino, speak, it's our battleground We're all in this together, let's make it loud And cheer on our team, through every round.

Bloody hell. They got about 67 retweets and 13 people re-posting some random graphic.

Yes. It’s a coincidence. (And it’s also not any kind of concession that is tangible - this exact premise happened over the last 1-2 years and didn’t happen. I’m willing to bet a lot of money with you right now that Gino Pozzo will take no part in this. But sure, the rest of us are the mugs)

Amersham and TonyCotonstache have properly outed themselves over the last week - 1 or 2 crappy retweets and £3 in donations, and they think they’ve managed to pull off the impossible, and are happy to deny all sense that it’s a total coincidence that the EFL mandate that the club do something to show they are willing to talk to fans (the bare minimum of course) before the seasons end.

Kudos for the effort. But don’t embarrass yourselves claiming it was anything to do with a social media campaign that got zero traction.

If they did actually have anything to do with it, well we’ve been here before haven’t we? They want Gino to speak, well he will for certain conditions which they’ll no doubt be happy to agree with. So the whole campaign to get Gino to speak will be rendered entirely redundant and they won’t actually get what they initially wanted at all, they’ll get the version the club want to give in return for something else entirely.

No I don't mind answering. Last game I went to was Wolves at the Vic last season (lost 2-0 with the fated OG from Serraltra). I would like to go again, I'm debating renewing my ST for next season, but the main reason I have stopped going is work commitments. Although I do work from home, I have so much on that needs to be completed by Monday, most of my Saturday mornings and afternoons are taken up with it. Another more personal reason I have stopped going is a silent protest over our owners. By not taking my seat it's another one not filled and another voice not wanting to back what road they are taking us down.

I fully respect loyal hornet fans' who go to games week in week out, home and away. Credit to them, and their passion for the club is there for all to see. For now I am happy supporting from a far. I always watch on Hive Live and of course contrubite to the Shout Box as well as spending most of my time on here. I love this community, I really do. We have members of all different outlooks on how they believe the club is run, and it make's every post interesting to read.

It's a well-known fact that Gino refused to allow any class on his Masters course at Harvard University to begin until they had promised to conferenza solely in Italian, so this all stands absolutely to reason. DNSYE: the saviour of Rome Watford! God bless 'em; every one.

I imagine it will follow a similar outline to when Kim Jung-un has a free and open press conference, just without the torturing-whilst-hanging-out-helicopter bit afterwards.

Fair dos on the work commitments, but I’m not sure the “silent protest” thing is effective. We’ve been to a few aways this season, including three to spend weekends in the Peak District, which we enjoy, but there’ll be no more following that awful performance at QPR. I’m not spending any more on this team, but I wouldn’t stop going to the home games which I’ve already paid for.
I hope you can find the time and enthusiasm to come back to Vicarage Road at some time in the future.

This is him deflecting the anger. Have you seen the responses, already a bunch of fans saying this is great, not all owners have to do this etc etc. Not all owners do have to do this because most owners don’t treat the club they own like a joke.

This is nothing more than a fluff piece that will be completely dictated by fans who will take it easy on them.

The only way this is a true fan forum is if everyone is invited to it. For those who can’t make it in attendance, it needs to be live streamed, where they have multiple people operating the chat so questions can be asked via online. Every question should be asked and answered. This shouldn’t be a 1-2 hour “scheduled” meeting. This should be a meeting where it starts at 6pm and it doesn’t end until all questions have been asked and answered to the satisfactory of the fans, not Gino and SD.

If that happens, then and only then will I tip my hat to them and say they have learnt. I’m not holding my breath though because I fully believe this will be a soft touch meeting where the gloves won’t be allowed to come off.

Great victory for common sense. I'm glad Scott listened to me over dinner on Wednesday.

Always knew he would eventually get Gino talking. It's the one thing he pledged to do before new ownership comes in.

What you say could be totally correct, but I’m going to listen with an open mind. It’s big news as he’s never done this type of thing before.

It could well be just stock answers, but I’m also sure the questions the majority of us want answering will be posed.

I don’t think it helps if this first event is open to anyone. It cannot be hostile, but it shouldn’t be a fluff piece either. It cannot be used as an opportunity to beat up the owner, as he needs to be able to speak freely.

I would like to hear from him, in an environment that he feels comfortable in. Once it’s all over and what has been spoken is in the public arena, this is when we can get a feel of who he is, what his intentions are and how likely he is able to deliver.

Basically he has to sell himself, that he’s still the right guy for our club. If he fails in that, then it’s fair the gloves can come off.

Someone contacted the Football Supporters Association on Twitter a couple of weeks back, pointing out that Watford were in breach of the EFL regulations to meet fans and asking what their options were to challenge it. Wonder whether that's got something to do with the sudden desire to speak to fans.

Only trouble is Pozzo speaks in a Mid Atlantic accent with more grasp of the English language than most.

Or he did in 2015. Perhaps he's lost the power of speech and is as I've suspected for a few years,Harpo Marx!

    Why can’t it be hostile?

Sure, I agree it can’t be an angry ‘Town Hall‘ meeting where everyone is baying for blood. But it’s non-sensical to not allow a level of heavy criticism, else what’s the point?

Wouldn't it have been easier to have been a bit gracious on this one and acknowledge that you'd maybe got it a little bit wrong instead of doubling down on your attacks? It may be a coincidence, it may not, but does it really matter.

Hostility is a no, no as far as I’m concerned. Just my opinion. Gino is massively reluctant to speak in forums to fans. It’s not his thing clearly. Is it because he has nothing but utter contempt for us, or is it because he’s just not comfortable with it? If it’s the latter, then any hostility will instantly make him defensive and put him back in his shell. We’ll learn nothing then.

You can have direct and assertive questions but in a friendly environment. Basically, we are all in this together and we, as fans, have to set that tone of being concerned but supportive.

We’re not going to learn who Gino is unless he feels relaxed. If we don’t like his answers or find him elusive and disengaged, then we can make a more informed judgement on him.

I'm not being funny, but the time to learn who Gino is was a decade ago. I have no interest in learning who he is now, I want to know how he's going to fix this mess he's made.

Giving him a hug and a hot chocolate might make him more willing to speak, but the chances are we still wouldn't hear from him again for years - why not take the one opportunity we have to actually get answers and not some smarmy PR ********? It may even be the kick up the arse he needs, rather than having Yes Men constantly telling him he's great and never puts a foot wrong.

How sad/pathetic is that. Watford's owner has to be dragged out to meet the club's supporters for the first time in Christ knows how many years to avoid a ticking off by the League.

    Exactly this.
Probing questions yes, but if he's deluged with emotional aggression about "destroying our club" etc it will be the last time he speaks to fans openly. I'd be most interested in the financial position and how the club survives in the championship given the debt and cost base.

How have I got it wrong?

The club are clearly acting because they were reported to the EFL, not because I’m naive enough to think a social media campaign that got very little traction actually worked.

I’m sorry you’re offended but Gino Pozzo has been asked to speak by fans for well over 2 years. The local media have asked, the comments under virtually every social media post asked…and it’s been stony silence. He hasn’t suddenly chosen to speak up because of some graphic from a podcast that didn’t even get off the ground in terms of even being a tiny bit viral amongst even just fans of the club.

Genuine kudos to those who did it and tried. I’m having a little humour with it because I think it is funny that people are ignoring the obvious reasons it’s happening and are choosing to believe something wild instead.
