Maybe we should get him to mate with a Panda, might be easier to do. Sounds like a terrific idea to me.

Haha, this made me crack up. Can imagine Attenborough: “And here, emerging from his cocoon, is the lesser-spotted Gino Pozzo. Know to take fright at the slightest danger this delicate creature…on no, what’s this? A predator! A deranged older woman with a homemade sign has appeared…”

I’m hoping I can go along to this meet-and-greet with Gino and video myself doing so.

The above is a joke - but seriously, this would be an occasion where I would actually support one of these podcasters actually doing that.

I may have missed the details but when is this meeting with Gino? In regards to being hostile or not, we obviously want answers to some very important questions but being hostile may well stop that from happening. He clearly didn't want to do this (I still don't think he will) but if the atmosphere is hostile I suspect we would get even less info

Fair point but he's a lawyer.

Their very existence depends upon confrontation or at least a firm exchange of views.

It strikes me that the club has been quite clever here. If I read it correctly, Duxbury has basically told the various supporters groups, podcasts and YouTubers to come up with a proposal for how this works among themselves and pitch it to the club.

The risk is that all the various media, fans groups and individuals who anticipate being involved spend too much of their energy getting a seat at the table and debating among themselves who should ask the questions and not enough time on the actual strategy or what the questions should be.

My fear is that it's a Fans Forum style shambles and the first 20 minutes is wasted congratulating Pozzo and Duxbury on agreeing to meet the fans before asking about the entry and egress to the Upper GT Stand, toilet facilities in the Rookery, the cost of pies, flasks and whether Deeney is going to be manager one day.

This needs a clear, focused approach. A professional and organised format should be devised to ensure that questions can be asked in a structured way, allowing follow-ups and ensuring the panellists get to the point if they start to drift or avoid the question. Then the whole thing should be streamed, or at least recorded and broadcast.

The worst case scenario would be a fractured group of people asking their questions at random. All would no doubt be valid questions but if it is unstructured it allows Pozzo and Duxbury too much room to say what they want to say rather than answer questions supporters want asked.

Asking questions to people in positions of power is not always easy, especially in front of an audience. Getting them to answer is also not easy so it really needs a professional who will do it without fear or favour.

Perhaps the best way would be to appoint a moderator as host – and then appeal for questions from not only the various groups, podcasters and YouTubers but also the supporters at large. Then there would be an editorial panel made up of the host and representatives of those groups to sift through the questions, dismissing the 'Why did we buy Andre Gray?' ones or anything that tends towards anecdote over evidence, and anything about flasks, before putting together a very tightly structured examination of the policies and beliefs of those in charge.

Instead of random questions this needs an evidence-based approach, putting together all the significant events of the past 4-5 years, highlighting the patterns of decision-making (rather than picking individual anecdotes) to ask why and how the club has lost its way on so many fronts.

Otherwise we risk being fobbed off with a repeat of the 'mistakes were made but we've learned from them' mantra.

Rather than let the bloggers, podcasters etc ask the questions why not put together a list of a dozen or so points and find a grown up to put them to Pozzo and Fuxbury in a structured way? What we don't need is fans who behave like children meeting Santa when Pozzo enters the room or angry yobbos taking the lead on this

That’s what I want as a supporter. My questions represented by a couple of sensible actual journalists. Not ‘fan pundits’. French and Leventhal would be fine by me to do the job. They appear for the most part professional.

Instead, we’re going to have a bunch of yes-men/teenagers/podcasters/fanzine writers gazing lovingly whilst sitting there thinking how lucky they are that they can spend an evening in the same room as the long distance owner of a middling Championship side.

Going by Scott Duxbury’s comments in the programme recently it won’t be like a fans forum and people won’t be allowed to say what has been said without permission.

This post should be read with the contempt it deserves. Written by yesterdays man who hasn’t attended a Watford match in years and holds no experiences of anything Watford FC at all other than any armchair supporter. Everything he writes is written within a total grudge position against Gino, Scott and Richard Walker. His Facebook group has contained anti current regime propaganda for years however thankfully due to other channels I know few that now read it. Yes we need engagement from the top and the current position that has resulted from the DNSYE campaign is very encouraging.

I think one of the main issues will be something we’ve experienced before, namely we all assume they are aware of all the clangers and bad decisions they’ve made and are basically thinking the same things we all are, but they won’t be. Wasn’t Duxbury taken aback in a previous incarnation of them attempting to talk to fans when someone questioned the levels of communication coming out of the club, he genuinely thought it was good? It’s the same when we expect them to go for certain no brainer signings, and then get annoyed when they don’t, as obvious as they may seem they were mostly just never on their radar in the first place. Most of the things we see as glaring errors and bad decisions I think they’ll genuinely be surprised about and not view them as such, so they’ll mostly get swatted away.

When people ask questions about things like debt and Duxbury just says something like “oh it’s only £50m and it’s like your own mortgage” 90% of teenage YouTube hosts will just wilt and take it at face value, before repeating it on Twitter.

Who is Richard Walker anyway? Is this some kind of I am Spartacus attempt to confuse the villagers when sticking the pitchforks into Pozzo and Duxbury?

You're going to have to retract all of that because you are labouring under a bad case of mistaken identity. I have nothing to do with the Facebook group of the same name and hold absolutely no grudge against Duxbury, Pozzo and especially not Richard Walker. So, a correction and an apology would be nice, please.
