That isnt journalism that is his opinion. If he had provided evidence to back up his claims that would have been journalism. What he said is probably correct but it is not journalism.

 

Has anyone who applied heard anything about the fans forum? I guess they'll let people know in good time, around 10 minutes before the start time.

 

It was yesterday, and truly great. Surprised so few bothered to turn up given all the fuss. Only downside was they confiscated my flask.

Clearly some people want their '15 minutes of fame', and want to break exclusive news themselves. Just a ploy to increase their own viewer/listener/reader numbers.

 

Yep just reeks of social media bods acting in their own interests despite their rhetoric. Shame.

It’s exactly the same as the last fan forum. “Random” ballot, wink wink, nudge nudge, know what I mean, know what I mean.

Nothing but self promoting social media fan accounts. Audio file released, yes of course, after some very clever and heavy editing. Only those exclusive enough to go to the actual event will truly know what was said. I would really love it if someone on here that isn’t afraid of the club went and would publish everything. Unfortunately no-one on here who has the balls to do that will be invited.

I said it will divide the fanbase even more, and shocker it has.

 

It's just people looking out for their own interests. Andrew French knows a live blog would be the most visited thing he does all year if he goes, and the podcasts know it'll be their most listened to podcast if he doesn't.

Can understand why French is doing it but to conflate it with the last season's is a bit off. That was an entirely closed cast list, sworn to secrecy and not advertised, with rather pathetic minutes issued weeks afterwards.

This one, they've asked for questions in advance, will release the whole recording on audio within 24 hours and have an open ballot to attend. Some will be lucky on the night, some won't (looks like chances of getting a place are about 6 to 1). But everyone will be able to listen, rewind and discuss what's said afterwards.

 

I'm assuming this is tongue in cheek but if not, do you have a source for the ballot being rigged?

Is a bit weird tbf, why not let them attend on the understand that the traditional journos dont take part in the Q&A ?

Suspect there will be some 'before and after the tape recorder' comments from Duxbury as usual which dont make it to the audio file...

 

Do you think the club or the podcasters know all our true identities then? How exactly would they stop people going?

 

I agree, can't see what harm it would do (other than fewer listeners to the podcasts) and if it was up to me, would've let them. But the manufactured/misplaced outrage is quite funny to watch.

 

Massive build up to an event which will now allow about 70 people, most of them podders and their mates to ask some questions from their patrons at the club. Utter fail.

 

Like so much about this club right now, yet another let down.

What an own goal from the podders. A chance for all Watford fans to read a live reporting feed of the Q&A from French. But nope. The need for these individuals to be front and centre and have special access is more important.

 

I agree Jumbo, but unfortunately I’m not at all surprised.

Social media/podcast people pushing their own agenda hoping for ego strokes and pats on the back.

 

If I go I promise to record everything via the device I am willing to hide in my bum crack.
