Athletic article seems to suggest Pozzo would rather pay a £1000 fine than talk to us.

Haha. A club spokesman quoted as eseentially saying they're happy to pay a £1000 fine while the fans get their act together. Silly fans, dragging their heels. Don't worry though, Macquerie Bank Pozzo will bail you out on this occasion

Why is it always ‘fan groups’ and not just ‘fans’?

Very, very simple solution to this. It could be sorted in a morning.

1 Set up a Google Form

2 Invite any Watford fan to submit their question

3 Ask someone - I’d suggest Andrew French - to sort through the questions and compile a list for the meeting

4 Ask Scott Duxbury to set the date

5 Invite fans to the forum in the normal way (first-come, first-serve). Stream the whole thing so everyone can listen

Might as well just pay the EFL a grand every season to avoid the hassle, didn't realise it would be that toothless a regulation.

Gino's not going to turn up to any meeting. It'll be held after a new coach is appointed, some random young continental players have been signed to give some hope and Duxbury will dust off his shameless 'lessons have been learned, got to get back to our culture' horseshit which will be enough to pacify most of the people in attendance.

To be fair to the club, they've played it perfectly given that they don't really want to be doing this and would rather avoid any scrutiny.

Do nothing for a half a season, then put some vague statement out there about coming up with a new format to buy another couple of months, then finally chuck it over to a disparate mob of fan groups saying 'well, we're ready to talk to you, but you need to agree what format works best and sort yourselves out'. There'll be all sorts of egos involved and a vacuum of leadership whilst they get themselves in order and another few months will pass.

It's every bit as cynical and dishonest as you'd expect from the people that run this club and the 'who cares, it's only £1000 and the EFL haven't contacted us anyway' quote tells us far more about the club's attitude towards this then any mealy mouthed platitudes from Duxbury or anyone else.

This is phenomenal grade A, pendatic S-housery from the club. They didn’t like being criticised for the closed shop hand picked echo chamber they created before, so instead they’ve said well ok, ALL fan groups have to be represented now, while they sit back and watch us all inevitably fail to deliver on an essentially impossible task.

So what will the groups asking for Gino to Parlaci do now?

Will they accept some typed up platitudes instead of them delivered in person to a hand picked group?

Just another example of us trying to bend the rules when it’s easier to have a meeting open to all fans and views within reason.

I bet if we were going well on and off the pitch we’d seen a few going ahead

So is it our fault on here for not getting behind it, or is it the people (apparently) behind it’s fault for not getting it all organised yet? Apparently Duxbury is waiting for you and is even willing to pay £1000 to give you extra time, so what’s the hold up?

Yeah, get a move on podders and pals! You're costing OUR club £1000 while YOU flap around trying to organise your piss up in a brewery.

Why is it up to 20k individual fans to arrange a format?

The club should just hold an 'at your place' type event which is mediated by one of the professional media people with links to the club (French, Leventhal or someone from 3cr).

Look, we're just waiting on mail by ship confirming the Tuvalu Watford Fans Network are on board and working out accommodations for the Agoraphobic 'Orns and the meeting is set to go. Be patient.

Absolutely. I said at the time of Duxbury's programme notes that the club had played a blinder if their preferred end result was to do nothing.

It's only a grand??? It's actually a good rule from the EFL, but completely pointless if this is the non-punishment.

Interesting article. Have to agree with meister, it's a good peice of astute journalism for a change. We used to be everyone's second team to support especially in the PL years we had. Now we are a joke of a club that is continuing to spiral towards an uncertain future. Eleven years ago, just before the Pozzo took over I was looking forward to what a second Dyche season would bring. Obviously I was over the moon when we were bought - our first couple of seasons were very entertaining. Even the Zola ones, despite missing out on promotion first time around, saw us playing some exceptional football. Five years in the PL was beyond most fans' expectations when we went up under Joka after that Sunny day in Brighton. Thinking about that now, it seems a lot longer ago than it really is.

Real question is, how long with Gino put up with it? He is constantly having to take out loans to keep us afloat. Sooner or later, the banks' are going to turn around and say NO.

I presume the one in the Rookery with criticism of the players on was ok as no one seemed to get kicked out there?
