He has potential - also he can play up front or on the wing. I think his attitue problems at Blunts came when he was requisted to play winger when he wanted to play up front. Whereas Ash is a winger that can play forward I see Kabba as a forward who can play on the wing. He's only played 8 times this season with only one start. He's scored one goal.
Very quick and strong, a bargain for 500K. As said above, if Boothroyd can work his magic we could have a very good player on our hands.
Not a target man - a bit like Hoskins in size. 5'10 and less than 12 stone. Has never been a prolific goalscorer and at best a Fizzypop player imo. 26 years of age I think? Here are some stats. I remember being impressed with some of his performances in the past. I imagine that his pace is his big draw for Aidy. He's got it to prove, but I am not unhappy he is coming.
Yes well we had one of those, but unfortunately we sold him and I bet you were in favour of that. Where do you think we are going to get stars if we don't develop them ourselves or buy them from the lower league?
25 trialists and this is the best we can do. I have some info for those meeting in the met bar tomorrow!!
Better than some washed up has been getting a fat pay cheque at our expense. The position we're in is hardly an incentive to any half decent premiership quality player, when it seems like every other club in the division is looking for new players. Old ground I know but never fails to amaze the expectations of some supporters.
Magic I'm delighted by this news! After all he's exactly what we need, a short arse with an attitude problem, whos' better at finding his hair net than the goal net and for a bald man thats a hell of an achievment.
Confirmed as in "offical" or as in "rumours claim"? Of thisishertfordshire there's this one: Kabba set to seal Hornets switch EDIT Just saw the fishal site announcement - unusually quick...
He's not exactly going to strike fear into opposition defences but could turn out to be a worthy signing. Wonder if he was the 2nd choice behind Collins John or have we suffered other knockbacks?
I'm sure we suffered other knock-backs. But at 500k I am sure he'll turn out a good investment. Thing is I can't see him strengthening our 1st 11. He can also play on the wing and he's got great pace.
Whilst he has always impressed me with his pace, power and determination whenever I've seen him play, I was a bit sceptical a few minutes ago when I first saw that we'd signed him as I thought that he's already been round the block a few times. I had no idea he's still only 25!!! I'm very pleased with this signing now. I don't know why he didn't get more of a chance at Sheff Utd? Also, does he genuinely play right-wing? Because with his pace that could be very handy. Bouazza and Kabba on the wings? Would be a nightmare for full-backs.
He's always look good when I've seen him play but one must ask why he's not a good enough for first team football at Sheffield but good enough for us? I'm sure Aidy has seen potential in him and his pace will worry any defence.
There is one thing you can say about Colin - he is a good judge of a striker. His management style is aggressive and he will fall out with people, reading between the lines it could be the case here. When you think we have paid more for Will`s potential, Kabba who is proven in the Championship, and has a little Prem experience, is still only in his mid twenties should be decent value, if Aidy can motivate him.
I have to admit...... To being a little underwhelmed when I heard we were signing Steve, no disrespect, but I was hoping for a more established front man However, now you are here mate, I will be behind you 110%, and I look forward to you ramming my doubts down my my throat. Some people have been saying you could be Marlon mark 2, well if you can be "KABBAMAN" the 1st I will be delighted. Welcome to "The 'Orns" mate, and long may you reign
We have more strikers than Shef Utd now! Birmingham had a 3.2 million bid for Kabba turned down last January, Shows how much he's improved, If we signed him last season i would of been delighted, but next year in the Championship he'll be a great player once again!
Career History From: FootyMAD > The Golden Boys > Latest > News Stories Kabba Dabba Do By Gary Holmes Friday 26th January 2007 Sheffield United striker joins Watford. Watford Football Club has today (Friday), confirmed they have completed the signing of Sheffield United striker, Steve Kabba for a fee of £500, 000. The 25-year-old London born forward joins the Golden Boys on a two and a half year contract, and leaves the Blades having scored 18 league goals for Neil Warnock’s men in 46 appearances. Upon concluding the deal for a player who began his career at Crystal Palace a clearly delighted Aidy Boothroyd said: "Steve fits the bill. He threatened to really kick start his career at the beginning of last season when he was on a good goalscoring run. He's quick has an eye for goal and has got loads of development left in him at 25 years old, a great addition to our squad." Kabba is not cup-tied and will go straight into Watford's squad for Saturday's FA Cup Fourth Round tie with West Ham United at Upton Park.
