Di Matteo rumour has sadly resurfaced.... Not keen

So a Champions League winner and F A Cup winner doesn't meet your exacting standards.

 

Paco Jemez is also getting a mention. Rayo Vallecano manager who is out of contract in the summer. Usually plenty of goals with his all out attack mentality.

 

I would not be unhappy with Guidolin at the helm, but are there not rumours he might be offered the Italian National Coach job, which he might prefer to WFC as a fitting swan song for his career?

 

There are such rumours, yes. Yet Guidolin, strangely, is not much "fashionable" in Italy (probably because he never coached a "big" team) and I'm not so sure he has very favorable odds of being offered the job.
Of course, if he is offered to coach Italy team, he'll probably choose that.
Although I'm not so sure that would be a great idea.
Guidolin is the kind of coach who needs time, day after day, training after training, to mould his team and make it play as he wishes.
The National coach job is a totally different job.

WD said on Saturday that there will be a story about this but as far as they'd been told it's not true.

 

Was it Duncan Castles, because as far as i'm aware he's Jorge Mendes' mouthpiece/*****. Although i'm not sure if RDM is represented by Mendes?

 

It was. WD Sports have gone on to say that Duncan is "as good as a football story getter as there is" so maybe there's something in this.

That rings true. Arsenal are in desperate need of defensive midfielders, and who better to attract them? With Jurado in the Ozil role, they'd be a shoe-in for the title next season.

Having a look through for articles about the Pozzo’s just now found this one from the start of the season with this interested extract from the head scout of the network and someone who obviously works quite closely with the owners.

The number of signings Watford, under new head coach Quique Flores, have made this summer has reminded some observers of the ultimately unsuccessful sprees recently undertaken at Queens Park Rangers, and they will start the season as the bookmakers’ favourites for relegation, but in Udine they insist that there is method in the apparent madness. “The Premier League is a really hard competition,” Carnevale says. “We have acquired some important players; players who are good enough to play in the Champions League. It won’t be easy and it will take some time before the players get to know each other but let’s hope the team click and they have a great season. Safety is our first goal but there is the potential to do even better.”

The last line is quite interesting I think, maybe they see the form since Christmas as wasted potential to perform even better this season? Obviously we have done more than just survive but perhaps a slight insight into the ambition of the decision makers in the network here.
