Mazzari looks a upgrade on Quique. He's known for 3 at the back with a holding midfielder and a target man. Good news for Cathcart, Capoue and Deeney. Bad news for Jurado, and Odion.

We need somebody who's a great tactician, a strong man-manager who can sort out the dressing-room, and has experience of English football. What about that bloke at Fulham?

 

WD Sports confirming Mazzarri is in advanced talks which went well and he was at the traininh ground yesterday.

I know nothing of the odds on favourite. I had never heard of Flores; Jokanovic etc. However getting someone in straight away seems to me to be the best option. Have a full preseason with the squad, sort who stays and who is coming in before the start of the season. Far better than a panic in October if the form of the team carried over from the last 4 months.

 

Either that or a 3-4-3...but he loves 3 at the back.

 

Just looking on the good old wikipedia Walter Mazzarri played 3-4-3 at napoli he seemed to do okay there but not so great at Inter where they finished 9th and sacked him. Although sounds like he more tactical than Flores so would be interesting to see what side he would play as says he is keen on quick counter attacking football. If thats the case then goodbye Jurado.

I like the fact that Deeney is involved in stuff like this, you can really see how much Gino respects him

 

After the rumours about Deeney going to Leicester, the Pozzo's have decided that the only way to keep him is to appoint him as player/manager!
