Don’t know. Whatever you think of Sirreleta’s performance so far this season, he wins absolutely everything in the air. In a game against Chris Wood & Joelinton, that is vital. Chris Wood near post headed goal inevitable.
Given that we couldve started this match without Foster (injury) and Dennis (Afcon), that Newcastle could potentially have upgraded their team much more significantly and that the absence of Wilson for them is at least as big a loss as the absence of Sarr for us, we couldnt really have asked for a better situation. Whether or not we can do it on the pitch is a completely different matter. There's every chance we'll find out today if we have any hope of staying up or if that hope has been extinguished. I literally have no idea what's gonna happen today. Pretty much anything could happen out there.
In fairness, Joelinton isn't really the target man or aerial threat previous Mag managers insisted on trying to use him as, is he?
Yes. This thing worries me. Joelinton is carp but Wood is not (even if he is declining). I don't fancy Cathcart in the air against Wood.
This is my worry too. Louza looked terrible against Brighton and he had more pedigree than Kayembe. Kucka is absolutely useless after the 60th minute and Tufan is useless at any point in time.
I'm torn between 2 options: 1-Follow this on the shoutbox and have my day slowly ruined, or 2-Throw myself into work, pretend we're not playing and deal with utter disappointment later...
2 is the only sensible option. With the occasional check. It’s not enjoyable when the result matters so much and defeat is a strong possibility. actually an alternative is follow on shoutbox until we go behind, immediately switch off and forget the match even took place.
Not only am I inviting flowing water into my kitchen, I've got my customary Monster Zero cooling in the freezer ready for kick-off. I'm hoping the combined stress of the drink and game will lead to a coronary incident, excusing me from watching involuntarily.
And no doubt Ranieri's thinking is along the lines of 'we've lost 7 in a row, so playing the 3 new signings will either work out or it'll prove that the squad as a whole is so bad we've got no chance.'
Will watch a stream but try and avoid the shout box, it’s depressing enough watching let alone hearing we’ve conceded in advance.
Cathcart and Kucka probably the weakest (known) links in that 11, but they have also performed better than their counterparts in those positions so I can understand sticking with. Just hope Ranieri isn't too slow on the subs today - thrown away so many points when it is clear that Kucka, Louza etc are out on their legs and he waits 10 minutes too long to make a change.
All things considered I will take that line up they have against us ,our line up is good considering our transfer window now let's show it on the pitch ,clean sheet would be great COYH
Sounds like Jon Marks is commentating with his head in a fishbowl. It's on BBC3CR on Freeview/DAB this afters.
