None of which are entirely in keeping with safeguarding in this century.

Interestingly, the club's "welcome" page initially said he was available for Sunday's game, but it now doesn't. I hope that's not bad news (not registered in time?).

This signing gives me even more belief that it wasn’t a relegation clause that Hughes objected to.

Just can’t see how Hughes would object to such a thing but Sissoko, with 70 caps and still a full French international would happily sign up to it?

I think Hughes just wanted out when he realised other offers would likely become available.

So now we have Sissoko, that really bulks up our midfield. Still talk of one more, although I just can't see it. Still need a CB then I would say our transfer work is done.

I think it's clear Quina will be going, which is a big shame as he has some real quality. That would still leave us with 8 senior players to pick from and if we continue with a 4-3-3, there is going to be some fierce competition for those three starting spots.

Personally, I just don't see a reason to keep Gosling now. He is so far behind the others that we have to loan him out, although I will feel sorry for him if that happens. If Gosling goes, that would open up a squad place for a CB. If Deeney goes as well then we may as well keep Gosling to make sure we have 25 players. Gray and Navarro, even if we can't shift out, will not be named in the official roster.

It's unfair to keep Gosling now. At his age he should be playing and he's just not at this level anymore. Give Bournemouth Gosling and Quina in exchange for Lerma.

The BBC says the fee is £3m. If that is true than that is probably the shrewdest bit off business the Pozzos have ever done. A World Cup winning midfielder… £3m… crazy!

Having scanned the Spurs forums, this fella looks like a good signing for 2.5m. Not the most gifted, but a real ball-winner and effective at breaking down attacks in the Prem, although may have lost a little zip after an injury. Good in the dressing room apparently and I would say that most of the posters liked him, and think he'll do well for us.

There is a significant portion that do hate home though, but I think many of those hate him due to that handball in the penalty area that cost them the cup, although it was fired at him from short range.

But over 70 French international caps isn't to be sniffed at.
