    I am nervous already.

i did my dissertation about unemployment in the post-industrial north east. Much as i love that part of the world, i can absolutely endorse the view that it is a ****-hole.

    I too am nervous.
I have to be up at 6.30 am to work from 8-12pm and that's probably just as well as I doubt I'll sleep.
I was never this bad when I was younger.

Coast has some lovely bits but some far from lovely bits (e.g. blackhall) - i really love the north east and miss it

Must win , keep to up the pressure on Norwich , if we win and the lose it could be down to our game against them to decide the league.

I’m in the success didn’t look that good camp , look alright(ish) in midfield moving up the field , but poor in the box and his job is to be a fox in the box

gray or success , bit like Sophie’s choice but more serious

It’s amazing how many times I reread my posts only to realise that due to poor punctuation and spelling,(I blame using an iPad) they make little to no sense.

I put my car up for sale two weeks ago, not a sniff now someone wants to view it at 12:30 tomorrow. I don’t know if that could be considered some sort of omen, if it is then is it a good or a bad omen, or is it just simply annoying.

Is it Neil Warnock coming to have a look? Could hint at a lack of focus if so...

Used to go every December to see family.

    It was bracing.

Whitby is well worth a visit.

Not just for fish and chips at the Magpie Café.

    Oh yes Whitby is excellent!
I nearly bought my Mother a replica Viking helmet and sword from the Abbey gift shop when Mr IBB and I visited.
Then I remembered she already had some!

The market traders of St Albans would have been even more terrified, if that were possible.

In a funny way if we had to lose a game be better for it to be this one than against Brentford , Norwich .. or Luton!

    Hopefully we won’t ofcouse.

Let’s hope Warnock is moaning post match because that means we would have won!

    No way.!!??
Must admit Pedro does seem a bit of a wimp sometimes when tackled, but the way he hobbled into the tunnel was like a broken ankle.! When they replayed the tackle it looked like the tackler maybe trod on his instep so that hurts a bit, but I thought he looked out for the season.?
In my day we stared fierce at the tackler and pretended it never hurt, and carried on...

Only been there once, during a school trip to York. It was March but it was snowing/sleeting and there was a biting cold wind typical of the east coast which made my fingers numb and it was a struggle to take notes. But the abbey and setting is wonderful.

    I'm in a dilemma.

On the one hand, I hope we win, but on the other, I wouldn't be at all sorry if we didn't get promoted. There, I said it.

I like the Championship. I like no VA-stupid-R. I like going in to games knowing we're the favourites. I like other clubs being afraid of us and their fans being all complimentary and hoping for a point against us. I like opposing fans who are generally knowledgeable about the game and supporting their home team, rather than arrogant glory hunting TV supporting replica shirt Premiershitts.

I like lots of games. The midweek evening ones are a treat and something I missed during the 5 years upstairs. I like being gloriously up the top rather than grimly clinging on round the bottom. I like people saying to me "your boys are doing well then" rather than "not looking good for your lot".

And the Prem is shyte. Awful, shiny, mercantile, have a bet, commercial, super Sunday, have another bet, shyte. I've honestly barely watched it since we went down.

So if we lose this, miss out on the autos and then lose in the playoffs (Deeney misses pen 90+6) then as long as we thump L*ton, I won't be at all sorry.

I don't think a lot of people would disagree with you. However I shudder to think what the financial implications will be if we don't go up this season. Muff's recent financial report stated they made a £60m loss, ours will be of a similar magnitude.

Yes, in many ways the premier league is somewhat of a curse. You obviously don’t get the massive prize money until you’ve potentially already been relegated (or survived if you’re lucky) so unless you’re already cash rich, you have to borrow against it at the start. That means when you do go down you’ve got a massive hole to plug, obviously parachute payments help a bit, but if you don’t go back up you’re quickly in a worse position than if you just never went up in the first place. I agree it would be great to remain in the position we’re in now almost indefinitely, unfortunately I don’t think it’s possible. It’s either get promoted, or get significantly worse next season, especially with Troy and Andre still sucking at the teat.
