Sky Sports understands a host of clubs are weighing up a move for Watford star Lewis McGugan before the close of the transfer window. McGugan is widely regarded as one of the best midfielders outside the Premier League after impressing for Nottingham Forest and Watford after emerging on the scene as an 18-year-old.. The classy playmaker came through the ranks at Forest and made over 200 appearances and scored 40 goals during his seven years at the City Ground. McGugan joined Watford last summer and he quickly established himself as a key player at Vicarage Road, scoring 11 goals last term from midfield. The 25-year-old set-piece specialist has an eye for a spectacular goal and several sides are thought to be ready to test Watford's resolve to hang on to McGugan. Premier League new boys Burnley as well as Cardiff and Fulham are thought to be interested in McGugan as they look to bring in a goalscoring midfielder before the transfer window closes.
He was disliked round town cos of his night life antics, he upset a few 'characters', which had an impact on his playing n training tie at Forest and so was asked to leave. With a classy ball winner beside him hes got the potential to be a cracking player.
He played as a more mautr player v Bolton, so I thought that he'd been listening to advice over the summer about distributing wisely rather than shooting.
Why is bull**** sky trying to unsettle our players first Troy now magoo , sod off sky you lying *****!
Just, wow. Don't get me wrong he looked twice the player he did lat season against Bolton. But you just know Sky spout so much BS. Probably just heard these teams want a goal scoring midfielder looked at who scored slot in the championship and hey presto 2+2=5
Sky have shown themselves to be absolutely clueless over Deeney so I think I can safely say this is bull****.
I didn't realise that he's still only 25 - for some reason I thought that as he seems to have been around for a while that he'd be hitting 30 soon. Considering his age and recent form he definitely still has room to get even better, I hope we keep him.
No it wouldn't. Abdi or Deeney going would be. Mcgoo is slow, lazy, gives the ball away, rarely beats the first defender at corners and never tracks back. He is also stifling Murray's development.
Sell him and bring in Adryan that young brazilan Leeds are scrambling to sign! let Murray take the HG slot.
Most transfer rumours are leaked to the press by agents (who else would know that 3 clubs are looking at him, unless all three clubs leaked that information), who either want to move their client to a new club or to increase the terms on their current contract. However surely the timing of this is not a coincidence, so it sounds to me like McGugan has mentioned that he is unhappy to his agent. He might not actually want to leave, he might just want to crank the pressure up on Sannino, but either way it suggests that Lewis is unhappy. Funnily enough, he fits the attacking, experienced, non Italian speaking player profile who have the most reason to be upset, if we go along with the theory that this is not just about playing time. Or maybe moving adjacent to Baker Street has got to me and I am still a bit too excited from the last game of Werewolf...
Other than the corners one, have you actually seen Mcgoo play this year? Also, by many accounts, Murray is probably the most significant factor in stifling Murray's development...
