Show me another 20 year old who is their clubs leading scorer, who has played and scored for England U21s, who was sold for less than £5m?
Again, the club have bottled it and we've been mugged off for yet another player. On top of this, he's been sold on deadline day. What goes through some people's heads? Honestly...
Pathetic price, Bassini tried to bluff and failed, no permanent replacement will come in, we will loan some crap kid from the PL On the other hand is this not what Watford are all about? is this not what we have always been about? The players, managers and owners (fingers ****ing crossed) will come and go
Mail on Line reckons it is £4m. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2094572/Marvin-Sordell-signs-Bolton.html?
This exactly. Bluff with the "We're not going to be shafted" spiel. Take any old offer for our brightest talent.
SSN and Premier League tweet feed also qouted £4m. Just hope we have significant add-ons included in the deal. I can't see him failing tbh
I wonder if Sordell has a release clause in his contract. Did a google search to see when he last signed it and a WO article came up with reference made to both him and Graham signing extensions at the same time. And we know Graham had such a clause.
From a source close to marvin, he has agreed personal terms with Bolton and is just waiting on confirmation from the league
Surely it we rejected 3 mill in the summer, bas gambled and failed. We are a selling club, but I assume the hope was that we would get more, when it looked like we weren't Bas knew we had to sell for the original price which he thought was too low. Oh well at least with this and spus it should just about make up for the shortfull of this year. But 3 million is a v.poor offer, last day in January where clubs always pay more for a team that would be willing to pay more in a panic to try and stay up-we could have done a lot better
Is getting £3m (which I think is **** poor for Sordell after all Bas's rhetoric) every couple of years (or longer) sufficient to warrant the outlay on Harefield? I suppose you can factor in not having to pay out for players if they are making up the first team but if that's the maximum we're going to get for our academy prize assets it hardly seems worth it, does it?
10 goals in a poor team, 14 last year and probably 20+ if that scottish idiot hadnt dropped him for the last half of the season. Very disapointing and i have no further faith in baz, no work has been undertaken on the ground and according to wo sordel was made availible for transfer tonight. unless baz publicises the clubs and his finances i will not purchase my season ticket next year i live 90 milez away why should i commit my cash if the best player will be touted about midway through
roowfc while I agree its not noticeable but money has been spent on the ground and on the club: Cleared unpaid invoices - Solicitor bills and Builders bills Gave £3.5m to keep club afloat in April, Lodged £2.5m with solicitors to pay the bond holders new screen & deposit on a new one deposit paid on pitch Redlion pub being refitted (though you could question the priority of this) Paid £1m in Dec to keep club afloat Paid £1m in players pre Aug 2011 Recieved £5m in sales from other players prior to this transfer window. So club has paid more out than recieved in so Baz is keeping the club afloat but would respect peoples views as to the values of the sales of the players. However we have to sell to keep the club going. So unless you have hundreds of millionso buy the club off him Baz is not going to change the clubs current policy. Please tell me the millionaires who are queuing up to buy the club and do what you ask?
Hi all First post, although have been a Watford fan since my Grandad took me to a game at the Vic in the 80's, please don't ask which, I don't remember. I do remember being the only kid at school with a Watford bag! Anyway - first post -transfer activity and Sordell (please go easy!) I recognise that this is a post tainted by the great result against Millwall and the great performance against Spurs. However, Sordell, for me, has not demonstrated the passion to play for us, even when DG wasn't scoring he gave his all, haven't seen that from Sordell. I'd rather Sordell went for £3m than Mapps. Mapps going was my real worry. Easy to say after the last 2 performances, but playing some youngsters and giving some new signings a chance, well I've been wanting that since last year. In my view we have that opportunity now. I think this has been a good transfer window for us, and I think that Sordell's departure may be a catalyst to give others a chance. Also, have followed this site since BBC site went last year, great work all.
Well done, you've successfully identified Watford's business model as it has been pretty much every year when we've not received parachute payments. It seriously shouldn't a surprise to any seasoned fan.
The mirror puts a slightly different swing on malky's interest. If true he is not making friends. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/tra...amid-interest-from-Cardiff-article859724.html
