I think the plan was to keep building on the 4-3-3/4-4-2 but although we were winning games against poor opposition, the performances themselves weren't very convincing. I said as much myself and IMO Nani has to take much of the blame for not bringing in enough quality in the wide positions. Dyer at his best probably would be adequate but despite his Scotland caps, Anya really isn't as he excels best when running from deep. After three particularly dismal losses, Jocanovic had sense to switch back to what the players know best in a 3-5-2 and despite losing our home game v Cardiff, it saw us much improved.

I'm sure Dyer could fit in but he seems petulant and reluctant to work back and this makes him a liability for most occasions, his place on the bench serves no one.

Joka really doesn't take any ****. You don't want to work to be part of the team? Ok then we'll get rid. Simple.

Not for me. They came in as relative unknowns and almost certainly not on good wages.

Dyer came in with a Championship winners medal and as a player proven in the Championship. He's done little since arriving other than pop up and score a couple of goals and cause a disgustingly unprofessional public controversy by aggressively screaming at his head coach during a game.

Considering that he's probably one of the highest earners at the club and is on the books for three years it's hard to look beyond Dyer as the worst signing Nani made. We've certainly had other players who didn't settle in, but they didn't publically embarass the club, they were on loan deals so didn't end up tying us to a long term contract, and most importantly they weren't among the club's highest paid players.

And 2 of those goals carried us all the way to the round 2 of the league cup. He will be missed.

Much more to Sannino's departure than what was on the surface then.

Fair play to Joka for having the balls though. That's McGugan, Andrews & Dyer all out.

Plenty of options still don't worry. There's Anya, Gomes, Vydra, Murray, Paredes, Pudil and of course Jokanovic himself.

Dyer and McGugan both reportedly had problems with Sannino and now Joka too so I'm inclined to think it's the player and not the boss.

Andrews transfer history speaks for itself. More partners than Hugh Heffner.

Well, should be able to recoup our wages spent on him hopefully or at least most of it.

The fact he apparantly doesn't want to fight for a place indicates a big ego.

Been speaking to a Leicester fan who said he'd like him back without a doubt, especially with Mahrez off to the African Nations Cup. He said Dyer was known to be prone to attitude problems, but that Pearson really knew how to keep him in check & that as he's so popular with the Leicester fans he didn't really cause any problems there.
Be hilarious if we actually sold him back to them!

We may be better loaning him to Leicester for the rest of the season as Dyer may get on with next season's manager.

Quite a lot of conjecture there Squibbs ... I'm more inclined that it's a lack of quality or understanding that makes them dispensable.

After one recent game Joka went nuts because some players simply weren't playing to the planned tactics.

We were crying out for proven championship players, we signed some, then we as fans decide they aren't that good. Think that shows it doesn't matter what nationality a player is or what league they have been in previously if we want to go up we need a settled and motivated squad

Not necessarily. I think Nani really screwed us over with Dyer. I'm not gonna absolve Dyer of all the blame- he's an arrogant, divisive prik who loved to moan and didn't really have the quality to back up his moaning. However I believe Nani really sold him down the river with (I believe) a promise of first team football. He's was feeling betrayed by Leicester and with the promises Nani was giving him, he was almost always going to come here. Who wouldn't choose a three year deal (with a wage increase?) with first team football compared to bench warming on a one year contract? When Beppe realised how **** he was (and it's clear, Mahrez was constantly getting chosen over him in the latter half of last season, it wasn't really likely he was going to be starting every game for us), he decided to play others. Dyer would've felt betrayed by us and Beppe and hit out in the way he did, which is understandable if he was given false promises (like I believe Nani gave him). However he was still a canut afterwards and when he was given his chance didn't do anything good and needs to go for the good of the club as well as for him.

In Dyer and McGugan, we got the dregs from two clubs. It wasn't never really gonna work out for them here

Not yet. They're all in on Monday whereby the squad, staff, owners, Harry the Hornet and the tea lady have to have a one-to-one meeting with Dyer in which he'll call them a **** to their face.
