Alright chaps Leicester fan here, not been through the thread so I'm sure you've already had a few comments about Lloyd from other fans. He's a great bloke by all accounts and there has never been a hint of trouble from him whether he's been in the team or not. Last year was probably his most productive for us in terms of his goals and assists, as you know he's always a threat with his pace. He had started to fall down the pecking order after Christmas due to him having his usual half a season's worth of poor form (this is guaranteed, so don't be shocked even if he starts off brilliantly) and the arrival of Mahrez meant we finally had another option. Personally I would have liked to keep him next year as a threat from the bench, but there was no way we'd be handing a 3 year contract to someone of his age to be fourth choice winger. Hopefully you get decent service form him for a few years and he gets the long term commitment he wants.
His best bits from the season just gone. As I said earlier in the thread, he's one of my favourite Leicester players of the last five years. I hope he has a successful and happy time at Watford and I know all Leicester fans can't thank him enough for the commitment and love for the club he's shown in during his time with us, not to mention the two titles that he's helped to deliver.
Leicester fan in peace. You have made a very good signing. Everybody rightly mentions Lloyd Dyer's pace. However, it is worth mentioning that there is more to him than that. He is willing to do the donkey work of helping his full back He is brave and much stronger than he looks. His attitude is first class and if his final ball had been better he might have been with a top club. Leicester have two young French wingers who hopefully can only get better; but for this I would guess he would have been offered a longer contract. In the last few months he has been displaced by Mahrez. There is no disgrace in that since Mahrez at the moment is in Brazil for the world cup. What has happened is that Dyer has been brought on for the last twenty or so minutes as an impact sub - although he is capable of 90 minutes. You might use him that way in the last couple of years of his contract. It has to be a nightmare for a tiring fullback to find a fresh Lloyd Dyer coming on. In the last three years the two best teams Leicester have played have been Real Madrid (friendly) and Manchester City (cup). In both games we lost 3-1 and in both games Lloyd Dyer scored the single Leicester goal. Good luck Lloyd and well done Watford for signing him.
Another City fan here. Lloyd Dyer is an excellent signing for you. Lots of pace, lots of power, and a great team player. Scored some wonderful goals, not least the one that won the game last season at Bolton, when we became Champions. Treat him well - he's one of the best!
Can you shed any light on why this hasn't been officially announced? Is it because your club is under some sort of embargo due to your financial shambles? It's very worrying for us that there's still no proof that this is actually going ahead.
We can't buy anyone until Deeney goes to Forest, which my source tells me is imminent (actually, he said eminent, but he's a ****ing idiot) Sadly, it's one out - one in at the moment Very worrying
Why are Lesta fans suddenly being nice to us? Is it because we are no longer mahussive enough to be their rivals? Pozzo's have ruined our club FML :dismay:
So we are still under an embargo, but unlike last summer, we can't sign any players, unless they are playing for a whipping boy nation in the World Cup (Belkalem and Paredes). These embargos are never straightforward are they?
Apparently its because their forum fell foul of FFP and was closed down. They have no where else to go
If thats the case we should take a look at the Spanish team, I hear they might have one or two players that would do ok at this level.
http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/topic/98629-should-we-get-lloyd-dyer-backeven-on-loan/ Have him, Il give him a piggy back myself
Taking into account expectations, I'd say he's been the most disappointing Pozzo signing. Things didn't start well when he called the manager a **** in front of 15,000 people and have got worse with his anonymous performances. Very poor.
Something probably has gone on like he was promised a starting role by Nani but then Sannino had other ideas. I doubt Dyer would have signed for 3 years if he knew he'd be a sub for most of the season at best.
