Marquee signings could destabilise a club like ours. We've got a lot of good players and some weaknesses - let's get good players for the positions where we're weak - notably full-backs on either side and a more attack-minded left-footer.
Depends on definition of marquee signing I think. I believe we will get Capoue and would consider him under that heading because of his c v, his ability and most likely the rather big fee he'd command!! Others might label Perotti in that class too due to the interest shown in him from other clubs. I think either of those two, plus one or two others we've been linked with, would be marquee in the sense they'd make fans of other clubs sit up and take notice, plus could possibly influence other players procrastinating over a move that we mean business!
Holebas has more international caps and more Champions League appearances than Capoue and Perotti, so if we're going by CVs how are they marquee signings and he isn't?

Assuming we sign Nyom and our existing array of CBs, we have a very decent back 4 with excellent squad replacements. Already have great strikers and goal keeper. 2 more midfielders and a winger and we re in a great shape. Inler, Capoue and Gradel ? Would be well happy with that
Excellent. Experience & quality in the area we needed most, & for bugger all money. His defensive positioning will be kept in check by QSF, who knows how to set up a compact defence. No guarantees but on paper a very shrewd piece of business.
