I know he can be a bit of a ******** but with QPR almost certainly down, and with him at the tail of his career, he might like the idea of staying London based for another year with us, albeit on a reduced wage.

A John Eustace style player perfectly suited to the PL and with younger, more creative players around him to save his legs.

Barton has a terrible attitude and is a thoroughly nasty person having been charged with violent conduct three times by the footbsll league. Not the sort of player that should be anywhere near our club.

He was in the press in the week criticising some QPR players for not caring enough. He was a **** end earlier in his career, but I actually think he could be a positive influence in the dressing room at the age he is now. Also rate him as a player.

Wages would probably be high coming from QPR though.

 

Although he is a decent player, he, like Lee Cattermole, is a red card waiting to happen.

 

I expect he'll put out a statement saying "I will wish to remain loyal to QPR & their fans and help them with their promotion push next season"

Which is of course agent-speak for "No idiot is going to match the wages I'm already on, so DO ONE!!"

I've met Joey Barton before. Talk to him one-on-one and he actually comes across as an alright guy.

 

He ran 11.59km v Man City today, the most of any player.

QPR = Quite Pathetically Relegated. Don't think there's any of their players i'd like here. Possibly Phillips at a push but don't know where he'd fit in.
