Yes I agree letting Success go to another club in the league isn’t wise . After all he might stay fit and score goals like Murray probably will whilst we plod along with Gray .
That's just a natural state of being when it comes to Success, rather than any transfer-related development, isn't it?
In fairness to the Observer I do like that whenever they mention Success, they always use the photo of him sat on a bench wearing a t shirt as a hat.
Whilst I understand the frustration towards 2 of our strikers, the idea that Success is going to be the CF answer might be pushing it. From the few cameos we have seen of him he was more of a wide left player who liked to come deep to pick up the ball, fall over, and draw some fouls from the opposition.
He would probably have been crap, but as has been observed he (I,us,anyone) can’t be worse than Gray, so it would’ve at least been worth giving him 2/3 games to see if he was in fact any better than Gray. Pretty much a no brainer.
Except for the Spurs game I just cited, where he played the entire match as a lone centre forward, better than any other striker other than Okaka has since the Pozzo have been here? He's unlikely to be the answer, but there's no way we can currently say he's not part of any answer.
Thats because Deeney is untouchable and undroppable Therefore when Success is bought on he has to play wing back or goal keeper or wherever there is a spot He’s a 9, just not for Watford
Scored a goal against Spurs in the League Cup which showed more ability than Gray has ever shown mind you...
As I said, the frustration of 2 our strikers' lack of open play goals, including him, is causing some to say Success is the answer when there is a likelihood he may well not be. That was all.
I don’t need to highlight any of your posts. It’s all wrong. Let’s leave it there as this is very worn ground where you’ve shown yourself to be wide of the mark often, and with more than just myself.
There is no such thing. He is either going to be the answer to our goalscoring problem or he isn't. And as you have also said he is not the answer then we are actually in a general agreement that he may well not be.
Gray has scored 1 goal. If one of the strikers we already own can score 2 goals, then that is a better answer than Gray.
Looks like Pozzo has pissed all the money up the wall. He is now the only answer as we are skint. More hope than expectation.
That is one way to look at it. He's never looked a natural goalscorer to me though. And some obstacles to overcome too - fitness, getting into the team, transfer rumours.
How can this possibly be good unless we have a striker incoming (which we don’t). We have Gray playing up front half our games and playing absolutely terribly. First team striker back to fitness? Yep ship him out on loan makes perfect sense!
Absolutely fuming about this, who am I going to pin my mid-season hopes on to score goals after Gray does **** all next season as well?
The best answer would be that we buy someone new and good, but I'd rather start both Zinckernagel and Sema with Sarr pushed up front rather than Success. We're also not privy to training so maybe Dalby or Hungbo are ahead of him. We also have Perica to return. The assessment that has been made, for whatever reason, is that Success isn't going to be a key player for us this season. I don't see any reason to doubt that assessment.
I thought so. Rational at least, unlike the case that goal shy, game shy Isaac is suddenly crucial to us. I get you hate the Pozzos, but imagine you inherited it all now, including the cash situation. Would you hesitate to get his wages at least partly off our books for six months?
Success is rubbish and clearly a bit of a kn0b. But he's still better than Gray who is f***ing horrific and an absolute c*nt. Our strikers are like an ugly game of one-downmanship, so it's hard to care hugely about this. The lack of any sort of incomings up front is the tedious part. Rank incompetence all round.
Given we are in with a shout of promotion I’d keep him as competition for Gray. If I was manager I’d give him a run of games to see if this were his level as Gray has comprehensively failed over many games this year. If he flops (again) then okay I’ve missed out on clawing back 15k per week but worth the speculation in my view. All this assumes no striker incoming.
