I can’t remember when exactly but I’m sure I remember something saying that the players always have the final say, if they don’t want to move within the network they don’t etc. How true that is of course I don’t know but perhaps the carrot of a good season on two in the prem to increase the value is too much to resist.
http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/14246073.Dowling_lifts_lid_on_Doucoure_and_Penaranda_deals/ Dowling: “Gino Pozzo owns Granada and he owns Watford and it’s easy for us to say come to Watford, you’re in London, you’re in the Premier League but if the player doesn’t want to go somewhere he won’t go there. "It doesn’t matter what club we own. If a player doesn’t want to come to us, they won’t come. They hold the cards, they’ve got a contract and they can go where they want to go."
This article is suggesting that Success will choose atlético over Watford. http://www.soccernet.com.ng/2016/05/isaac-success-to-join-atletico-madrid.html
This is a good sign. Top European clubs like Athletico sniffing around Success with Spurs and Barca looking at Peneranda, this shows their pedigree. Good players are always going to have top clubs chasing them. We're used to stories over Ighalo and Deeney, now we've got two more to worry about :]]
Pozzo I presume. Whether or not he's signed yet for Watford, he's still under the ownership of the trinity, thus is owned by Pozzo.
One copy is probably in Mr Pozzo's safe which I suspect will be a bit larger than Bazza's old one. The other copy will be in the playets agent's safe.
So exactly how much choosing will Success actually get to do? .... I can tell you it will be Granada, Udinese or Watford unless Gino decides a bid from outside is big enough. The article is a load of rubbish.
From various articles and AYP comments by Duxbury, I understand that the Pozzos will try to persuade players to stay in the setup, but will not stand in their way if they are determined to leave.
Exactly. If a player, with dreamy eyes, comes saying "XXX big club wants me! I'll be playing in Champions League! (well ...also, they offer me double the wage I have here)", shouting "No way! You have still 4 years of contract here and you'll stay here!" is useless, worse: counterproductive.
http://allnigeriasoccer.com/read_news.php?nid=19175 His agent is saying that he'll only more to Watford if Ighalo is sold.
Obviously just wants to go somewhere where he is guaranteed football, don't really blame him for that. Never been in the same team as Ighalo as far as I'm aware so obviously nothing to do with their relationship personally.
Any player worth their salt will be confident enough to break into the first team on merit alone, rather than having to scotch the competition. Ighalo & Success up front with Deeney playing behind would be epic, but it's a no from me.
West Ham in for Success? The Pozzos are brilliant. They are now playing off West Ham and Success's agent in a bidding war with themselves, who will ultimately get the money for success. If the guy doesn't want to come here, which I am totally relaxed about, we bid against WHU to get the best price, and the agent thinks he's working for Success all the time. Hats off to Gino.
Success has joined Watford on a 5 year deal according to a Nigerian website. http://owngoalnigeria.com/2016/06/2...c-success-agress-five-year-deal-with-watford/
While I hope you're right, I can become an overnight millionaire if I help the son of a late president get his dad's gold bullion out of the country according to a Nigerian website
Why? We've been trying to get this guy for ages and at the moment Oulare is our third choice striker.
His agent said he would only join Watford if Ighalo leaves, presumably as he wants guaranteed first team football.
Iggy will be in Rio for the first couple of weeks, if Success wants a spot then that's his chance to make it his own.
I'm helping the same guy recover millions stuck in an offshore bank account. He really does need to change his financial advisor.
