Guess depends on wages, bonuses, first team action vs being on the bench, etc.

You'd think Boro are the most likely of the 2 to be in the Prem next year but if he's going to be warming the bench there then may opt for regular first team action at Hull even if they may go down.

Think he'd be happier in the Championship so I'd go Hull.

Boro are quite a defensive team - not sure if he'd like that as a attack minded player.

As Hull is the current European city of culture, I assume they are the feeling boobies option rather than the looking at boobies option.

Nice countryside about 30 mins drive out of both Hull and Middlesbrough. I dont think he will be living in a terrace house in the middle of town you know.

If he goes to Hull he will play more, if he goes to 'Boro he has a better chance of being in a squad that stays up. Good luck Gueds could never doubt your commitment.

Yes a quick 111 miles up the road from Hull, good job we don't have him in the team tonight, he would be knackered before we kick off, oh wait a minute!

Very pleased he's chosen Boro, as we've already played them twice. So often players come back to haunt, but at least he wont do that this season.

Amazing that we got him on a free, he's done nothing of note since we signed him permanently other than confirm to all of us he isn't cut out for the PL, yet at the age of 31 we are shifting him on for £4m.

And I agree with your sentiment that Gino has pulled of a surprisingly good bit of business here; sorry for being abit snide.

IIRC he wasn't a free transfer, but think the fee was about £1m just

Either way we've done well to shift him on aged 31 for more than we paid for him.

  23. I wish he could have played a bigger part during his time here in the Prem.

If he was going to, it should have been last season, and, if Quique had appreciated his attacking game more, I think he could have had a good season.

The quality of the team has stepped up now, though we are still struggling to realise the football Walter wants to play (if we ever will), and though I would be very happy to have Gueds as backup in the squad, the truth is that he is going to struggle for game time at Watford. I hope at Boro he will get some more time on the pitch, and I'm sure his style will make him a lot of friends up there.

He is one of the most likeable players I have known in the post GT/EJ era, and in many respects, I wish he could have been with us from the off with the Pozzos.

PS, I do not believe he is a ****

A thoroughly decent and likeable chap.

  26. We should have a huge Gueds banner at the Vic with the phrase "that ****s gone now" emblazoned along the bottom of it with the forum web address. T Shirts too.

There have been players that "played a bigger part" in the past who have been half forgotten. Adlene's goal at the Emirates will not be forgotten for years.

  28. The goal was special, but to me it under values him a little. His contribution to promotion was massive, and I think that the question. Could we have been champions if he'd been available for the last game v Wednesday? Is probably more reflective of his overall contribution to the club than that brilliant goal.

There is a YouTube vid of his best bits in the run up to promotion, and he is magnificent. That is what I will remember him by predominantly, and I hope others will too. As well as for the goal of course.

Pass of that season by a country mile. And he also hit the two best crosses from open play, one with his left foot (Deeney goal vs Wigan) and one with his right (Deeney vs Boro). He was on a brilliant run of form at the end of that season and who knows if he would have carried it on for a while like Ighalo did, if he'd been given a chance at the start by Quique. I always felt that when he finally got his opportunities, he was trying too hard to make things happen in a bid to keep his place in the team.

Seems like a decent bloke and played a massive part in us getting promoted and to Wembley last season. Wish him all the best.

A good decision to move him on I think, and we did well to get as much for him as we did. However, like others have said, I genuinely don't think we'd be where we are today were it not for Adlene Guedioura. He was the catalyst that pushed us over the line in 14/15. A fantastic character, and always came across in interviews as really likeable and down-to-earth. Thank you, Adlene for the memories!
