I still don't think Sierralta is the saviour, he's completely untested at this level and poor with the ball at his feet. Saying that he's still our best centre back because he can do the basics of heading and hoofing the ball away from danger. Something which is beyond WTE and Cathcart at times. It will be nice to have a threat from set pieces again as well.
Yeah, as has been said before, he's 24 with an extremely low amount of senior appearances even for that relatively low age - he needs to be the junior partner behind someone who has different attributes to him but is overall more experienced and the first choice leader of the defence, so he can continue to learn and adapt from and alongside them. Having a terrible defender who is very much out of his depth at this level and pretends/is forced to pretend to be good at certain things Sierralta is not purely because he is older than him is actively detrimental, by comparison.
Why on earth has the club started refusing to announce contract extensions in the last couple of years? Deeney, Kabasele, Femenia, probably others. Does any other club do this? Is there some sort of benefit to keeping it a secret, because I can't think of one. It's infuriating.
I can see why they don't announce the contract extensions for over 30s, it quite rightly leads to negative comments from fans. Who knows what they've done behind the scenes. A new 3 year deal for Foster? An extension for Gosling? Maybe they even extended Gray's deal before he went on loan!?

I think he should pick up a small set back in training so he can pull out of the international squad, plenty of other PL teams seem to have players that regularly do that, and the players are amazingly fit again by the time the PL games restart

Huge win for them, after such an underwhelming start, they are now in an automatic qualification spot (albeit Uruguay have a game in hand). Can't say him going to Qatar would be ideal for us, but I'd be delighted for him if he does make it
Obviously jetting to South America isn't ideal neither, but at least he'll have some minutes in the legs rather than coming back cold for us
You may be right, he certainly hasn't played much Premier league football but he looked more than capable up against some top quality forwards during the Copa America.
