Giggs is 38 and still plays for United.....so who knows. What I do know we are going to be linked with all sorts of players and this is just another example.
Genuinely love how we are linked with the same players that Milan are going for! Milan, Atlanta or Watford? Easy choice, we have the Cassiobury Park train!
Seems to me that Milan have offered him a coaching role. I might be reading that article wrongly though.
We might have a chance if we really have put a bid in: A lot of players express a desire to play in England at some stage of their career, so he might be happy to spend his last season or two here. Remember AC Milan have incredible fitness coaches and physios, even at 38 he could have another couple of seasons in him. Just look at Maldini!
Is he what we need? Great player in his day but he only played 7 league games (for a total of 70 mins so not even a full game in all) last season and is surely finishing his career now.
Inzaghi = Kevin Phillips x10 Would be our top scorer by some distance and I think I'd cry with joy if we signed him.
Would you not think that he would be brought in to also help the youngsters and other forwards and a potential career in coaching? I doubt it will be a big pay day for him and for someone of 38 to up sticks and move his family for a two year playing stint is pointless. Saying that, i cannot see this happening.
Tamas Priskin hasn't got 288 club goals, 25 International goals, a world cup winners' medal, two Champions League winners' medals in his career though
Inzaghi and Zola training our attacking players... blimey! Would be brilliant if true but I have my doubts.
Not at all, Priskin, other than towards the end of his WFC career never had such a good goalscoring record and people would give a proven striker more time
I think it's the lack of obvious effort that he might be hinting torwards. Many were frustrated by Priskin as he often looked like he didn't care. Or I may have missed the point completly as well.
No no, you have. Famous quote: "Pippo was born in an offside position" I think he's the player caught offside the most, ever..
I would have thought GZ could teach our players all they could possibly want to know about being a striker?
I got the point and it is well put. However, I do feel you have to cut the man some slack because contrary to Priskin he actually managed to stay on side and score once in a while.
true! never liked him. anyway, the article appears to be just bull****. Its credibility ends here: "anyhow, the situation hangs to the balance and scenarios change quickly"
As a coach would be great. As a player as somebody else mentioned resmebles a Vialli signing. The difference being all of Vialli's signings (Galli apart) were nobody's where at least Inzaghi has been a great player. Don't know why I'm writing this as it will never happen. It would be nice to be linked with some players that we have a chance of actually signing rather than things like this. Ps. Just bumped in to Messi buying a happy meal in McDonalds on the high st so looks like he'll be signing! :naughty:
No thanks. Another Carlos Kickaball after his last paycheque. Not what we need to get out of the hardest league in the world. We need fighters and grafters, not foreign prima donnas. He's probably only interested because he wants to dress like a woman and go to Area to pull blokes.
Maybe our Italian friends can shed some light on whether this website is the Football-Rumours equivalent of Italy, is everything on there mostly rubbish? Perhaps we need to start a tuttomercatoweb sciocchezza filo?
One of my colleagues in work is from Sardinia and has now taken a keen interest in Watford as Zola is his Hero, used to play for their local team in the early 80's. He said after reading the article: "Inzaghi would only take a playing role and even though he is 38/39 - he's in extremely good shape and would do well in the Championship" Personally I think that he's too old but on a pay as you play deal then maybe
