What a spineless team Arsenal are.

Sensible decision by Arteta to put out a weakened starting 11. Shrewd; ; out of Europe and both domestic cups to ensure a top ten finish.

Good to see Norwich are fine with the fixture congestion. Well done to Forest, great win for them.

They'll likely be out of the League Cup as well given they can't beat any of the big teams (Spurs apart) this season - might be able to do Liverpool in a one-off tie but I can't see them beating them over two legs.

Not a single shot on target in the whole match. What an idiot Arteta is. The FA cup with the season we went down is the only thing that kept him in a job at that time.

I think Arteta is as frustrated as anybody connected with Arsenal. Their problem for years has been the recruitment of the wrong sort of players, who in turn probably influence the younger ones coming through. How much influence Arteta now has over that I don't know.

I'm sure he is but playing youngsters and reserves away at NF in the cup was always a high risk strategy in a competition that has given them some respite in the last decade.

Absolutely gutted we were knocked out by Forest. Just didn’t turn up. Don’t like our new kit either although it’s a pointless but admirable cause. Still behind Mikel though.

    Or thank goodness for Kane/Moura.

    Conte still unbeaten.

BTW Why was that Villa goal ruled out?

    Foul?
    Offside

Probably the right call by took a while and wasn't clear.

BBCs view (or the pundits) was VAR should not be used in some games but not others. Utter garbage Mr Shearer.

If you can use a system to ref one game, it has NO IMPACT on another game. If you get a bad call in a non-VAR game, stopping VAR in another game does not alter that bad refereeing. It's ludicrous to have an all or none policy.

    Villas disallowed goal...

Certainly the right decision, Villa player stood 5 yards offside, with the sole purpose of blocking a run from Man Utd player marking another Villa player. All he needs to do is impede any defender from making a challenge and it's offside, he clattered him just to be sure.

Shearer and Linekar totally confused, "would he have got there" "was it deliberate" "clear and obvious error?" "When is he offside" etc.

Didn't see most of the game, but it looked like BBC auto select of Man Utds game didnt work out too well.

I think that VAR should not be used in cup competitions because it does have an impact on other teams that do not have access to it.

I can't remember the game, but I think we were knocked out of the league cup a few years back by lower league opposition because VAR was not available at their ground, whereas had the game been at The Vic we would have survived because the access to VAR would have clearly ruled in our favour.

Therefore who ever they played in the next round would have had to play us rather than them, hence the ethos of the competition was compromised because VAR was not available at our match.

I don't see it that way. Man City were lucky to get to the cup final when we did. **** happens.

Great result last night for us. Delighted to see McFred combine for the goal. Thought VAR was right on both counts and Gerrard just had sour grapes (like he usually had when we beat him lol!)

Looking forward to Boro at home. Well done Ralf!

Yes, I really don't get why Shearer is so adamant about the VAR thing.

It didn’t really matter last night as there were two top flight teams playing each other .

Might be more of an issue if it was PL v non PL but then no one wants it at all!

Cannot have it both ways .

Good example in the Man U game where asking for a rule to be chaged can be counter productive.

That Boro goal would have been ruled last season but they altered the hand ball law and now you get a situation like this .

Probably needs to be some middle ground - gone from one extreme to another .

Mainly because the odd manager kicked up a fuss it went against them .

Great result for Boro' last night and fair play to them. Another season of no Trophies awaits for Manure. (Don't worry Utd fans, we haven't won anything either).

    Plymouth miss a penalty.

West Ham get another late goal.

    Cruel cruel game sometimes.

Norwich could be on for three wins in row. Beating Wolves away? When did we last win three in a row? Not this season...
