England letting the game get away from them as two Indian tailenders take advantage of some really defensive fields.

Joe Root is just a terrible captain. Not sure if I've mentioned my view on this before on here.

We were intent on hammering Bumrah and forgot to play the game. Pathetic and now we're going to draw and effectively waste another 5 days.

  4. GoingDown

Lose or draw. We certainly won't chase anything now like a West Indies or Australia would at least try to.

There's been about four edges to the second slip area and still Dopey Joe keeps only one and has dropped a simple one as well.

Shami smashing the ball around now. Lol. Fair play to India. And Bumrah's average before this series of 2, and in this series 25.

    Shami half century. Hahaha.

In the grand scheme of things, England do alright based on the fact they generally start innings 0-2/0-3.

    Going well today. 1 for 2 :-(
The first time ever in a home Test match that both England openers have been out for a duck !

England are absolute ****. Worse than Watford under Walt and Ivic put together!

At least it can't get any worse... Right?

You should never underestimate the England test side's ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. It's like some kind of super-power.

I'd take Shami and Bumrah as openers.

This pairing needs to stick for a couple of hours or we will collapse. Play the safest, most boring cricket of your lives Joe and Johnny.

They must drop Sibley and Hameed (dropped, so effectively out 3 times for 9 runs) but who's left to bring in ??

    Classic England !

Was always going to be tough for England to force a result today, but it looks like they may have found a way to achieve it.
Narrow band of rain over st albans now heading south that will arrive in 30 mins so that just might kill enough time for them to hold out, with bad light limiting time later. https://www.netweather.tv/live-weather/radar

    ....and Root's gone too. Haha...

Buttler and Moeen the safe pairs of hands at the crease now well capable of just blocking out the next 40 odd overs :)

    We don't deserve rain.

This must be one of the worse final day collapses or twist in fortunes ever ?

And we have had a few !

Looks like it's petering out as it moves south and the thickest is heading over East London anyway. Don't think it will save us.

Have been able to watch most of the play today...am so ******* angry I can hardly type. WTF was Root thinking this morning. Worse than abysmal captaincy

Irrelevant to the outcome, though. They already had too many for us.

Psychologically would have been a different game for them to defend 180 having been bowled out quickly - Root allowed the whole momentum of the game to change

Hopefully this won’t just be brushed off as one of those bad days even if we do manage to hold on.

Really do need to work on our batting for starters .

A truly gutless performance today from a hopelessly ragtag group who don't know their arses from their elbows at this level.

Time for Root to go. He won't until after a humiliating Ashes though. No wonder they want to delay it.

I’ll ask again: and replaced by…?

The usual vice captain isn’t even playing.

Both openers out without scoring for the first time ever in a test innings in England, and Tom Curran out for a king pair which is also a first for Lords I think.

Sibley should be replaced by a traffic cone.
