Barnley, after finishing 5th last season can now only max out at 33 points. Leaving aside the fact they were lucky to be in a position to challenge in the first place, I can't think of any team that has had such a fall from grace over one season - indeed, I can't recall any team in the second tier that got relegated one year after finishing in a promotion position. Happened a few times in League 1 and 2 (or the old equivalents) mind...
Absolutely disgraceful behaviour from Flam. They carried on playing when a poor Luton player was down injured and went on to score.
I know it was a heartbreaker! Two now and ***** aren't going to have 11 on the pitch for long at this rate!
What was Nathan Jones complaining about throughout the whole half? They are lucky to have 11 men on. I'm cheering on for Fulham here for two reasons obviously(the obvious one+Mitrovic. Hope Mitro smashes the record today as well).
Out of habit? Moaning Minny Jones. Mitrovic is a rarity in football. Stayed put ( I expect his wages influenced matters and living in a lovely part of town) and has developed very well as a player. He's still only mid twenties I think? Careful management by him and his advisers unlike some we could mention.
He's 27. He works really hard and he's suited for teams playing attacking football which is the biggest reason why his goal tally hasn't been as good in the Premier League. Though 11 goals he had in the first season with Fulham isn't that bad and last season he didn't get along with Parker. For our NT, he's been incredible, scoring goals in every game pretty much. The reason he stayed at Fulham is because he settled in really well with his family in London and didn't want to move to a different country, and he said that Fulham helped him when nobody wanted him and that he wants to stay loyal to them. He's a really nice guy actually, despite his portayal in the media.
Shame they’ve got Reading at home on the final day or I think they’d be in with a shout of dropping out of the play offs.
That's good to hear. Loyalty is a rare commodity in elite sport and Parker always strikes me as slightly odd! Lovely third goal and a good collection of yellow for *****, hopefully a pretty little red one to come!
True, but Reading have had quite a few surprising results this season. Carvalho is a wonderful player. Shame he'll go to Liverpool.
Was in their youth academy for 5 years as well. Could have been poached. An expensive miss by Liverpool and the others.
This result could really knock their confidence and they have a fair few injuries though, and remember what a Reading side of similar quality did at Derby on the final day of 2014/15 when they only needed a point.
The centre of the Watford supporting world falls to Millwall now. Who could complete the double whammy of knocking Bournemouth into the Playoffs and Luton out of them altogether. In one game.
While Mitrovic has got the lion's share, Fulham seem to have goals almost all over their team, seven different players have scored or assisted today.
